Dr. Donald Douglas Hackenberg, MD

I would not recommend Dr. Hackenberg . He is dismissive to parent concerns. His bedside manner with children can also use improvement. Sadly, I trusted this doctor and did not follow my maternal instinct to get a second opinion. I regret this decision and my son has suffered because of it.

Wonderful experience with Dr. Hackenberg today! We have seen Dr. Hackenberg a few times in the past at Childrens Medical group, but was honestly SO appreciative we had him for a visit today. I was very concerned about abnormal bruising on my son and a few other symptoms that would worry any mother. As soon as Dr Hackenberg came in the room he understood my worries without alarming my son, and was both friendly, reassuring and ordered STAT testing right away. He told me exactly when we would be called, the testing that would be done and even asked how I would prefer the news to be given. He reassured he would call me himself and he DID. Luckily the testing was good for us today but his approach and manner is what impressed me most. I will recommend Dr Hackenberg to anyone. His ability to handle serious concerns is excellent! Thank you!

He was arrogant and mean spirited. Made my son cry about his weight the first time he ever saw him as a patient. Treated my husband & I (separate visits) like we knew nothing about our children or their health. He might be ok with babies but terrible with kids over 10!

I was very impressed with Dr. Hackenberg. He was very easy to talk to and took the time to answer many of my questions for my Nephew. I Felt very comfortable with his diagnosis and would highly recommend Dr. Hackenberg to my friends.

Dr. Hackenberg misdiagnosed my newborn. I noticed that my son's head was always tilted and the back of his head was a little flat. His left cheek looked larger than his right cheek. At Every appointment I kept asking Dr. Hackenberg if my son's head was ok. He's reply was he's fine and we are all asymmetry. I understand that we are all asymmetry for I use to work for an orthodontist. The situation continued to bugme every day. I ended up taking my son for a second opinion. The new Dr. gave my son a thorough exam. My son was diagnosed with torticollis and plagiocephaly. He is now in therapy and possibly needs a helmet. The therapist said she is so happy that we got a second opinion. If you let torticollis mistreated it can lead to serious issues. I was highly disappointed in Dr. Hackenberg. I trusted him with my newborn and he just ignored my questions.
