My impression is that his interest in the patient and the family lessens when treatment is not working.

I went to him with an unknown cancer. He found I had metastatic melanoma and enrolled me in a human trial. Now I have barely a trace of it, and I have gotten better in no time and living normally. I was told in Denver that I would die from it. He is a hero to many.

Dr Lawrence is a compassionate, caring , brilliant physician. If you are lucky enough to be under his care know he will treat you with respect care and keep you informed of everything that can be done.

I can't begin to describe my appreciation of Dr.Lawrence, his kindness, compassion and, most importantly, his medical knowledge and expertise. I owe my life to him. He told me I'd have a much better chance of survival from melanoma than ordinary medical odds would indicate, so he gave me the hope that has kept me alive for two years after discovery of highly metastized melanoma.

I've been to multiple oncologists throughout the country and I am always impressed by Dr. Lawrence and his staff. Regarding my care, he has personally called me on two occasions. Always follows through on my appointments. Easily one of the best doctors out there.

Dr. Lawrence took care of my dad. He continued to offer us false hope, saying at one point my dad might have 2 months to live when the nurses and hospice told us days to a week - and they were right, 7 days. We called Dr. Lawrence to tell him my dad was going down hill faster than he might have thought and he said he'd like to come visit my dad at home. How compassionate, right? NOT SO FAST - he never called or came. My dad died not having seen him. The night my dad died we called to inform Dr. Lawrence and he said he promised to call my mother in the morning. Guess what? A WEEK LATER his office can't even manage to offer condolences to my mother. As my mother said, "You'd think any healthcare professional - no, any PROFESSIONAL, PERIOD, could show that kind of kindness." I hold him and his PA, Ellen, completely responsible for being so callous.

An excellent physician and collaborator in a strong team.
