I am an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of upper extremity issues, from the fingertip to the shoulder. I am fellowship trained in both Hand/elbow surgery and in shoulder arthroscopy/sports medicine. I have a special interest in treatment of shoulder rotator cuff and SLAP injuries, carpal tunnel, trigger fingers, and Dupuytrens disease among other upper extremity issues. I work closely with a team including physician assistant, medical assistant, and hand therapists, and we have an orthopedic surgery center of excellence if necessary. Conservative and minimally invasive treatments are always considered prior to recommending surgery.

Dr. Lewis was very pleasant and professional. Dr. Lewis made sure I had no questions regarding my upcoming hand surgery or hand therapy. Scheduling was easy and the staff is welcoming and professional.

Dr. Donald Lewis is very knowledgeable and experienced surgeon. I had a displaced distal radius fracture and needed a surgery. I had a wrist surgery and Dr. Donald Lewis did an amazing job. I didn't expect that surgery and recovery will be so much less painful. Medical personnel and anesthesiologist in Golden state Orthopedics are very friendly and very professional and couldn't have taken better care of me. I recommend Dr.Lewis as best hand surgeon In Bay Rea

Dr. Daniel Lewis is extremely professional, detail oriented and caring. He explained what to expect before, during and after rotator cuff repair surgery. Dr. Lewis has decades of experience and I would highly recommend his services.

Dr. Lewis, a wonderful surgeon! He answered all of my many questions and calmed my nerves. I like the fact that he is direct, confident, and professional. I would recommend him as a surgeon to my family and friends. I saw him at the Walnut Creek, CA location. He did my second surgery today.

Dr. Donald Lewis performed surgery on my broken wrist - Distal Radius. His knowledge and expertise made me fill confident that I’ll be in good hands in getting the surgery done. Now, after surgery I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Lewis, MD and his team.

Dr Lewis performed my carpal tunnel surgery, less than 2 months ago, and he did an amazing job. I'm fully relieved of the pain and issues I was having in that hand and arm. I truly couldn't be happier and just scheduled to have the other side done! Ease of scheduling and short wait times have also been a plus for me. I'd absolutely recommend Dr Lewis!

First off, I took the day off for this appointment. My appointment was fairly late in the afternoon. And I waited one full hour to get in; not impressive. When the Dr Lewis finally walked in he had a very Cavaliar attitude. After asking me if anything changed with my hand I told him what was hurting on my hand. He dismissed my pain by asking me what I wanted him to do. He said he didn’t have a magic wand and other than sending me back to physical therapy there was nothing he could do. After telling me I might have to live with the pain he turned and walked out of the room. His attitude couldn’t have been more arrogant, no compassion or caring attitude at all. I want everyone to know he wasted my day I had taken off from work. I have never felt so dismissed and devalued in my life. This is clearly a man who doesn’t care and shouldn’t be doing what he does!

Dr. Lewis was very patient and understanding. He helped me understand what caused my issue and made good recommendations, not pressuring me into surgery.
