Dr. Donald Mackenzie, MD

I am so grateful I came to see Dr. Mackenzie. The last Orthopedic I went to, tried to send me for surgery right away. I seen Dr.Mackenzie for a second opinion and my diagnosis was different. He referred me out for an Injection and Physical Therapy. I have finally finished my Physical Therapy and feel great. I completely avoided surgery because this Doctor is very Knowledgeable and truthful. Office staff were so nice and very helpful. Dina was very professional every time I called or had an appointment. Overall great experience and definitely recommend him.

I have lived with intense back pain for over 15 years. After multiple doctors, tests, all with no improvement, I was referred to Dr. Mackenzie. From the first visit to my recovery appointments, he was engaged, hands-on, informative, caring and an excellent surgeon. I am now pain-free and I would highly recommend Dr. Mackenzie to anyone seeking an educated, compassionate surgeon and team. His entire staff goes beyond professionalism, they treat you like family. They have rekindled my faith in healthcare.

He is the kindest man and took his time to discuss my problem. The new staff is awesome and always makes me feel welcomed. I was in and out with no wait time. So refreshing.

In my opinion this doctor should retire. Twice he misdiagnosed my problem and suggested I have procedures done which I didn’t do because I went to another doctor for a second opinion! Staff is extremely rude!!!

After reading some of the negative comments re: staff, I was somewhat apprehensive about visiting this doctor. However, the staff was incredibly courteous, solicitous of my needs and caring. Have not yet returned for folo-up, but expect my comments will not change.

I have had lower back pain for several years, to the point that it was controlling my life. I saw three "top" neurosurgeons according to the D magazine and they provided no help and probably did more harm than good. I was on a lot of different pain meds just to get through the day and night. I was finally referred to Dr. Donald Mackenzie, PA, a Orthopedic Surgeon. He evaluated all my records and made a preliminary diagnosis and ran one test to confirm. He then ordered one procedure on my SI joints. I am now pain free on my back!!! If you read his reviews they center around his employees, but I found them all to very nice. This man is the REAL DEAL and if you don't at least use him as second opinion your going to waste a lot of time and money with other Doctors. I totally recommend Dr. Mackenzie.

Dr for the $$$$$

It was easy enough to schedule an appointment. That's about it on the positive side of my experience. When he requests tests he does not give you the paperwork or a list of referrals, he chooses the other doctors for you. After tests and his referrals visits, he did not give me a diagnostics and sent me to a pain management place/ doctor that he chose. Once I asked to have his request so I could choose my pain management doctor, I got a very rude response from his office worker Lena, saying that if I don't want to use the specific doctors / places he refers I should look for a "better fit" orthopedic surgeon. I do not have a diagnostics, the s Communication among doctors and staff in his office is very poor and they tat you as if they are doing you a favor. I would never recommend him for both the lack of diagnostics and the lack of courtesy of his staff.

Dr. Mackenzie is a genius. I have never met a finer doctor. He takes the time to explain things that are very technical in human terms and he will make you feel very comfortable about surgery if you need it as I did. As for the surgical experience, it was first rate. I personally recommend this doctor and his incredible staff (especially Lena & Kim) to any one with spine issues. He will take excellent care of you. Thanks Doc!

I agree with comment made below about office and staff. All is still true today!!! He still has the same staff.
