One of the worst oncologists if you looking to meet with your oncologists once in six months u got your doctor if ure actually going though treatment expect to be treated by dr Northfeld’s nurses

If you’re looking for an oncologist that’s involve in your treatment dr Northfeld isn’t for you, you’ll be seeing the NP every three wks and meet the dr maybe once in six months if you’re lucky

My experience with Northfelt was full of medical mistakes, neglect, and unprofessional conduct. I am miraculously alive in spite of him. The only reason I am still alive today, is because another doctor at Mayo caught and worked tirelessly to correct Northfelt’s numerous missteps. Mayo is awesome! You should definitely go there if you can...but don’t trust your life to Northfelt. If another doctor hadn’t stepped in to save me from him, I would be dead.

In 2004, while in practice in Palm Springs, CA., Northfelt abruptly closed his practice and left without notice to his patients. Furthermore he sold patients' files to a local Dr. Grimm, D.O. without permission of patients. Very unprofessional and insulting.

Dr. Northfelt makes his recommendations for treatment based on the patient as an individual, rather than recommending the same treatment "recipe" for every patient with the same diagnosis. He definitely thinks outside of the box and has a modern perspective on how to treat the type of breast cancer the patient has. I am so grateful to him for this, and I feel so fortunate to have him as my doctor. I just happened upon his Twitter account when I looked him up and was impressed by his posts about healthy eating and exercise and the role this plays in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, and good health in general. There is no need to have a Twitter account to read the posts. I just can not say enough good things about Dr. Northfelt. He is a very wonderful and compassionate doctor.

He made mistakes . Twice. Too easily distracted , and he put way too much pressure on me to participate in a study he was a principal investigator in. He was more concerned for the study than me.

Dr. Northfelt supports medical expertise, healthy diet, appropriate daily exercise and the positive emotional well-being of his patients. A lot of physicians are not blessed with this gift. He is honest, thorough and explains the diagnosis so that a patient can easily understand what's going on.

Not just one, but two significant errors in the time he treated me.

Since being diagnosed with left breast cancer in 2009, I have had contact with many, many medical professionals and oncologists. Dr. Northfelt is without question, a state-of-the-art physician. He knew my copious history prior to my appointment, spent quality, attentive, caring, highly knowledgeable time with me. He welcomed my questions and left me feeling reassured and with increased knowledge about my options and diagnoses. In addition, he made on the spot referrals for me which were very helpful. So, if you need a perfect oncologist, you cannot do better than to see Dr. Northfelt. In addition to all of his professional attributes, he is pleasant and has a patient, welcoming bedside manner. The Mayo Clinic is indeed very fortunate to have him there and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found my way to his very professional and thorough care.
