Dr. Donald K Porter, MD

I usually don't take the time to post reviews but this is one I felt obligated to write. I have to unfortunately admit this was the worst doctor visit I have ever had in my 60 years. My visit was for severe breathing and lung issues. I had his first appointment in the morning and still waited nearly 1 hour in his examination room after 30 mins in the waiting room past my appointment time. After apparently his normal late arrival he would not listen to anything I had to say about my condition and asked my husband to be quiet. His bed side manner is probably the worst I have ever experienced and he was very rude.If I couldn't breath, I will never be back to him.

Dr.Porter spent a lot of time explaining that I am taking too many meds and supplements (prescribed by my other doctors for non-pulmonary issues). He spent a ton of time discussing my weight and diabetes issues as well. I was referred to a pulmonologist to follow up on a recent hospitalization for pneumonia, and he told me nothing about that, except to say "come back in 3 months". My other docs were surprised that no respiratory rehab. or discussions about what to expect over the next 3 months (including info. about continued oxygen therapy) were given. I will not be seeing him again.

Dr Porter has been seeing my wife for many years..she roasted her lungs by smoking for 60 years. Dr Porter has done the very best possible to make her comfortable and have the ability to live life as well as could be expected..he is totally respectful of his patients, and, best of all, actually listens to what they have to say...

Great doc I have known for years.
