Dr. Donald Joseph Rose, MD

I have had several operations with Dr Donald Rose. All outcomes were successful. I have great trust and esteem for him.

If you care about your health and quality of life at all please do not let Dr. Rose operate on you. He botched my knee surgery so bad that I can no longer walk. He has no idea what he's doing and is willing to experiment on innocent people with no regard for what the outcome might be.

Keeps me going

Dr. Rose botched my hip surgery, causing major damage to my health and all aspects of my life. I saw him for mild to moderate groin pain, which he diagnosed as FAI. After his surgery, I immediately developed a different and more severe pain on the lateral part of my hip. A subsequent total hip replacement at the age of 35 alleviated the lateral hip pain his surgery caused. Still, I have the original groin pain, which leads me to believe that he misdiagnosed me, performed an unnecessary surgery, and damaged my hip joint while performing the surgery. I do not recommend him. My advice to Dr. Rose is to stop treating people for FAI, stop employing microfacturing techniques, start using standardized pre op and post op surveys to gauge your effectiveness as a surgeon.

If you think you are special and god loves you go to Dr. Rose. He ruined my life via hip surgery. The next surgeon I went to in an attempt to undo his damage said the surgery I had never should have been done. Consider yourself warned.

Cocky, arrogant doctor without the skills to match. My surgery did not help and I had to have another at HSS. Save yourself the trouble and go there instead.

I found my experience with Dr. Rose to be poor - the rub is that Dr. Rose's practice bills a proportionately higher rate than comparable physicians... and 5 months after I paid the bill, I received notification that they sent my account to collections. My doctor visit, or should I say "physician's assistant visit" felt very impersonal; Dr. Rose showed very little bedside manner. Out of 60 minutes of total time spent in his office (a lot of it spent waiting alone in an examination room), he spent less than 5 minutes combined: speaking with me about my accident, reviewing my chart, looking at my x-ray, explaining my prognosis, and suggesting the kind of corrective surgery he proposed (described in the broadest of details and not appropriate to treat the severity of my injury). He does spend a good part of the 5 minutes he allocated to me with talking about the skiing athlete he treated once-upon-a-time. Unfathomably, when I went in to have a follow-up consultation, and again spent… 90% of the visit with the Physicians Assistant, I had to wait 75 minutes to be seen, even though at the time of my arrival (10 minutes early) there was no one in the waiting room. No explanation was given and no apology was offered. I ultimately did not move forward with Dr. Rose as my Orthopaedic surgeon, and instead went to another physician who in my opinion was far more interested in getting me back to good pre-injury health (go to HSS if you can). Overall, not happy. I might have given 2 stars because my condition did not get any worse after seeing Dr. Rose but I gave 1 star because this is healthcare and you are either good at your profession or you're not - I'll leave the 2-star ratings for Uber drivers.

Dr. Rose has treated me for both knee (surgery) and shoulder issues. He is no-nonsense and very professional. In my experience, everyone I've dealt with in the office is very nice and highly competent.
