Dr. Donald A Taylor

Horrible bedside manner. Staff is rude as well and unprofessional. The office looks like a hoarding place. Files everywhere. The examination room has Dirty furniture, that looks like it has bedbugs. I do not recommend it.

My name is Ryan Adkins. I was a patient of Dr. Taylor in 1986. I was 7 years old diagnosed with tumor. It was to close to the brain stem to get all of it out. I wasn't supposed to make it through surgery. Or if I did, I would be a vegetable with no memory. I thank this man everyday. I'm 47 years old with 4 kids. I'm also a veteran which the doctors claimed I couldn't do. They said I would never walk again. I have done everything that was said I couldn't do. Dr. Taylor is very knowledgeable. Dr. Taylor was a young doctor then along with Dr. White. He proved himself at a very young age and early in his career. So if you have to wait a little longer in the waiting room or maybe you approve of his bedside manners as I've read in previous review, just remember. This man has forgot mote than some doctors know. Thanks to him, I am alive. This was in St. Mary's hospital in 1986 when our technology was no where what it is today and he still with God beside him , saved a 7 year old boy who… wasn't supposed to make it.

His office is filthy. We waited over half an hour to see him. He acted annoyed to be at work. His sink was full of junk. He offered no support, no assistance, and he is absolutely the most worthless "doctor" in Richmond. Please do not waste your time. I don't know how St Mary's allows him to keep his dumpy office open in their hospital.

Very professional, understanding, great with my child. Looking forward to working with him in the future.

Condescending and insulting. We could not include him as a part of our child's treatment team. Looked in the mirror at himself more than he looked at our child.

I think he is a very good dr what dr has good side bed manner I have yet to see a Dr that does and to me he takes time with his pts you make have a 15 min or 30 min but by him caring for his pts he takes the extra time needed

Although Dr. Taylor is knowlegable, his bed side manners are terrible. My daughter had a 24 hour EEG and waited months to discuss the results with him. We waited in the waitinng room over and hour after our appointment time and only saw him for 15 minuets. When I asked about the EEG, his only response was, " She's still having seizures." I expected more information from him. My daughter has been with Dr. Teasley since that day and we love her. If you want a caring and understanding doctor, do not waste your time with Dr. Taylor,

Taylor has an extremely off putting manner. He actually smirks at the patient and family--his contempt for you is palpable. (Doubt me? Look at the other reviews here!). Worse than this, however, is that he is, in reality, a fool. He wasted time in our consultation with an absurd series of questions because of a--wrong--guess he had made about our son based on a superficial aspect of appearance. And his recommendation for medication turned out to be wrong, as we learned from further consultation with more competent professionals. He is a smirking, arrogant fool. Whatever you do, don't rely on this person for medical care of your child.

In this day in age, for what we all pay for health insurance, this guy is too old and out-dated for his patients. I was not put on the planet to kiss this guy's ring. This is not the guy for educated young parents. Go north or to Duke. This man treated our disabled child like a thing. Completey rude and in his own special world; that makes him eccentric, not necessarily a good doctor. And yes, you do pay for bedside manner unless you're an idiot.

Dr. Taylor is amazing. We are currently in the hospital. My 7 year old daughter suddenly started having seizures. Dr. Taylor has been supportive, thorough, and has actually had a conversation with my daughter (she never speaks to anyone.) He is blunt and to the point. His dry wit actually put me at ease. I would never go to another pediatric neurologist.
