IMAGINE MY RELIEF TO SEE DR WEAVER STILL PRACTICING MEDICINE!! WHEW!!! I have mixed connective tissue disease (Scleroderma & Lupus). I have a platelet disorder, too,.it makes surgery risky. Dr. Weaver has operated on me two times. My Gallbladder in 2013 and again for Stage 3 Right Sided Colon Cancer in 2017.. My health was to poor for Chemo. Dr. Weaver told me after surgery he got what he could see. HE'S THOROUGH because, Six years later, I'm still cancer free. Both surgical experiences with Dr. Weaver were phonemal. Incisions were perfection, healed quickly, too. The care I received at Harper Hospital and Karmanos Hospital were excellent because, the Staff respects Dr. Weaver. He visited my hospital room at least 2x daily, for the week I was there. He is extremely easy to talk to, HE LISTENS , he speaks in layman terms and he takes his time explaining everything to you. I can't say enough wonderful things about this incredible surgeon and person. I'm now in palliative care due to… the rapid progression of my mixed connective tissue disease and, have declined any further treatments/follow up care for Cancer. However, I have a hiatal hernia that's making my Life a living hell. It's telling me it's going to need to be surgically repaired. I finally told my PCP at HFH Hospital that if Dr Weaver is still in practice, he's the only one that I would consider having do my hernia surgical repair. I'm calling Dr Weaver's office tomorrow for a consultation. I would never, ever, let any other surgeon operate on me or a family member. As frightened as I am to have another surgery, due to heart and lung issues, I am more than confident that Dr Weaver will be able to repair this hiatal hernia and I can have some relief. I highly highly recommend Dr Weaver. Because of the seriousness of my mix connective tissue disease I have to see a lot of specialists. I've been to the Mayo clinic, the Cleveland clinic, and U of M. And I have been for the past 20 years. No one comes close to Dr Weaver. I wish he could handle all my medical needs. See you soon Doc Weaver! Regards, Virginia S Bayliss

Dr. Weaver never told us the surgery he performed on our Dad would leave scar tissue. When the scar tissue did cause our father to go into sepsis, Dr Weaver led us to believe he would make a full recovery. Dr Weaver knew our Dad would never recover. He was dying. Because we believed him our father went through so much suffering. Our family will never forgive him.

Dr. Weaver is the best. He explains everything not only to you as the patient, but also to his students that he's always teaching. He is caring, experienced and knowledgeable. I wish he could be my doctor for everything! I have been to him numerous times over the past 6 years. I moved over an hour away but I still drive the distance to see him. I don't trust anyone else as he knows my history and cares to learn and educate on my rare diagnosis.

Not only is doc Weaver the best surgeon his bedside manner is over the top, He brought hope to my mom who has been battling pancreatic cancer and he is how all doctors should be ........definitely became a doctor for the right reasons...his patients.

If your thin skin then choose a different Doctor. Dr Weaver is straight forward and can be blunt. He is one of the best !!!

I have been a patient of Dr.. Weavers for several years. He has NEVER given me his cell phone number. I am happy for you who he did but sad for his other patients who he did not think enough of to do the same. Perhaps he has favorites. I hope not but it appears he does..... I do not rate him as the "best" surgeon. He is a good surgeon but not the best as I have been told by other surgeons at DMC. I find his staff cold and not overly friendly. Very difficult to make appointment within a week, usually 2-3 weeks. Sad but true.

I do not like speaking to a PA. I want to talk to my Doctor........

My husband died due to complications after surgery. This doctor has never contacted me or my family...this also put me in a financial hardship because of all the time my husband spent in the hospital. I have never one talked to this doctor.
