Dr. Dong Suk Kim, MD

I have not returned to her practice after determining she runs an irresponsible and unprofessional practice. She does not take accountability for her staff members; her staff consistently makes negligent mistakes; and she does not respect HIPAA or other privacy concerns of her patients. Once, her office lost my blood sample once, which was only discovered once I began pestering the office for the test result. A separate time, she invited my mom (who accompanied me to the check-up) into the room without first asking me. During this visit, she exposed private information about myself to my mom. FYI, I am not a minor and I reasonably expected this doctor to follow privacy protocols. I did not and could not have foreseen this doctor to disrespect my privacy rights so willingly. My final visit with her terminated my relationship with her, where her receptionist neglected to warn me beforehand to fast in the morning in preparation for the visit. It took an immense amount of… effort to get to her office, due to my circumstances. Upon expressing frustration for not furnishing me with pertinent information, she began to raise her voice at me and refused to take accountability for her staff's blatantly negligent conduct. If I had the time and resources, I would have gone through the bureaucratic measures to report her. I do not believe Northshore University would want to be associated with such negligent and unprofessional practice.

I'll tell you, Dr. Kim is a great doctor if she has right staff. Her receptionist is the worst person to deal with. Everytime I call or talk to her in person, she(receptionist) always says that it wasn't her. I know it was her because I have asked if she was working in such and such days. and she did say yes to those days. She doesn't care about patient and I really wish Dr. Kim gets new receptionist. if Dr. Kim gets a different and possible better receptionist, I know all those patients that stop going to see dr kim will come back.

She would not go near me because she "did not want to get sick. " I never heard a doctor say this before. I ended up in the hospital because of her. She's horrible!
