Dr. Donna Josephine Carmosky, MD

I saw her back in 2021–post inpatient hospitalization. I was experiencing my first real flashbacks as I just turned 21 and survived extreme child abuse for 15 years. This was my very first time looking for a psychiatrist, unfortunately, she reminded me of my abusive narcissistic mother; with her arrogance and lack of empathy. I told her I was taking a certain medication prescribed by my doctor and she proceeded to scold me about it and refuse services because I had a “substance abuse problem” and it will make it impossible to diagnose me. Soon after I found a better psychiatrist who I continue to see till this day. She was a breath of fresh air after having to deal with this unprofessional monster of a “doctor”. Her treatment towards me still lingers in my head and it makes me sick. She NEEDS help. STAY AWAY.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I met with Dr. Carmosky several years ago, and I am shocked she has any good reviews or is still able to practice. I have been haunted and traumatized by my only visit with her when I was suffering from PTSD and severe anxiety after a cancer diagnosis. Luckily, I got the care I needed from a different psychiatrist. Based on the way she spoke to me at my appointment, I thought she must have autism or Aspergers or something that caused her to actually be mean and offensive to me. I felt like she actually hated me. It was the most bizarre, terrible experience I have ever had with a healthcare provider. Never, ever go to this doctor for psychiatric care. You will be worse off for it. Her license should be revoked.

I had never seen a psychiatrist nor therapist before seeing Dr. Carmosky and she left my crying after our first visit. I thought it was because by depression has really taken over but it was the manner that she talked to me. Very condescending and argumentative. I felt more anxious just sitting in her office!

Dr. Carmosky is the most thorough, brilliant, empathetic and understanding psychiatrist I have ever seen. I highly recommend her, especially for the treatment of anxiety and depression. She is flexible with scheduling and amazing at her job.

There are absolutely no words to describe the experience I had with this doctor. Please do yourself a favor and don’t subject yourself to her lack of human interaction and nastiness

I went to her for my ADHD, Depression and Anxiety medication maintenance. The first thing she did was try to discredit my ADHD diagnosis made by a Psychologist and then she tried to blame my ADHD symptoms on the amount of caffeine I drink and the amount of sleep I get. Carmosky then prescribed me sleeping pills and when I refused, because of having children an animal's that might need me at night. She asked me " Why couldn't my husband take care of them?" I told her he will, but I am their Mom and she looked at me like that was the stupidest thing she had ever heard. She has no idea how to treat ADHD and clearly does not believe in it. I felt judged and every time I had to go see her, my anxiety level went way up.

After several calls to schedule an appointment, Donna Carmosky personally declined our request in a very rude behavior because of the language barrier. I don't know how this person is working as psychiatrist in US with this attitude! Not only it's not ethical to refuse scheduling an appointment because of the language barrier, but also it has legal issues according to the following legislation: -Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 -HHS Policy Guidance on the Prohibition against National Origin Discrimination for LEP persons - Dept. of Justice Guidance Regarding Prohibition against National Origin Discrimination for LEP persons -Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards for Healthcare - Executive Order 13166 - Strategic Plan to Improve Access to HHS Programs and Activities by LEP persons - Affordable Care Act (ACA), Section 1557 I kindly ask Dr. Carmosky to read these rules that may help her to learn how to behave as a psychiatrist with a… client with language barrier!

Diagnosed me with something completely different than multiple other doctors based on a thirty minute assessment. Glad I didn’t listen to her and sought help elsewhere. Do not see this doctor.

Condescending and rude. Avoid at all costs.

No compassion. Minimal interest in patient. After not seeing her for quite some time l tried to contact her to be seen and she had a staff member contact me claiming she had never met me and had no idea who I was. I would never recommend her.
