Dr. Donna Emi Okuda, MD

I was pregnant with my first child in 2014 and had a high risk pregnancy. On top of seeing a specialist, I was also seeing Dr. Okuda. After delivering my baby, she left a significant amount of placenta. Prior to my two week check up, I called several time to complain about the pain I was in. I was told to take a Tylenol and that this was normal. At my two week check up, the ultrasound revealed the placenta that was left in place and she told me I needed to have a D&C. Had my calls about pain not been dismissed, I would have been able to have a D&C far earlier and not hemorrhaged in the OR because the placenta had grown into the uterus since too much time had passed. I was so close to organ failure and needed a blood transfusion. The neglect and trauma I endured was terrible. I immediately went to CCRM engaged an amazing team who performed two surgeries to repair the complete hack job she did to my uterus. Had it not been for these other doctor’s I never would have been able to have my… second child. I still regret not bringing a medical malpractice lawsuit against her. Please, I implore you to find another doctor who is competent.

I was searching for my doctors office and came across Donna Okuda's name and it brought back lots of bad memories. She became my doctor when I became pregnant with my first child. If she was only cold in her bedside manner, that would be one thing. She was also somewhat belittling. I dreaded my doctor appts with her. Even at delivery, she was incredibly rude to me and my mother. I couldn't wait to find a new doctor after my daughter was born!

Absolutely the worst OB i have ever been with. She comes on as a generously great listener, competent doctor and possibly a thinker outside the box. The reality is far from that and it would behoove people who care about their health, who want to understand decisions and be a part of the process to stay clear of this wolf in sheep's clothing.

This doctor definitely blows off any questions you may have because she is "too busy" to spend a couple extra minutes with you. Obviously time is money for her. I was not impressed and she made me feel like my questions were stupid and a waste of her time. She practically did the exam and ran out the door. No bedside manner at all. Definitely did not spend time with me other than to do the exam and leave. On another note, I started seeing her Nurse Practitioner, Connie, and she was FANTASTIC! This woman spent time with you, asked you questions and genuinely listened to your concerns and gave recommendations, etc. She was always reassuring and caring. Too bad she moved on.

Dr. Okuda has terrible bedside manner! She is not interested in answering your questions or in what is going on with your body. She is condescending and spent very little time with me during appts. When I had complications after delivery she blew me off and barely even examined me. I am now having to see multiple other doctors to resolve the postpartum issues I am having. Connie and the staff are great- too bad you can't just see them!

Dr. Okuda was my OB-GYN for 7 years. And even after moving away from the Denver area I called her for a consultation a few years later when I wasn't satisfied with the doctor I was seeing in my new location.I NEVER had to wait in her office. She spoiled me! If ever she was running late I was told as soon as I walked in - or called and rescheduled before I left home.Dr. Okuda delivered our first son who was diagnosed at 32 weeks gestation with severe hydrocephalus. Her care of us was always extraordinary. Her priority was us. She also delivered our next two sons and took excellent care of me during both pregnancies, willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were all healthy.I would recommend her highly. If we were ever to move back to Denver I would want to be under her care again.

she doesn't just need to improve her bedside manner, she really doesn't have one at all. if she's not considerate enough to professionally handle typical questions from pregnant patients, I don't know why she's even in the business. I shouldn't be leery of and uncomfortable with seeing my doctor in my final weeks of pregnancy but that's exactly what I am. I'd look elsewhere.

After seeing Dr. Okuda for a few years, it is time for me to move on. She has taken care of my feminine needs "just well enough" to stop me from going through the time and aggrevation required to find another doctor. Over the years, Dr. Okuda's bedside manner has deteriorated. She acts as though she is doing her patients a favor by seeing them, and that her time is more valuable. She does not express genuine concern for me as a person. The last straw, however, is how she treated my spouse who attended my office visits before the birth of our child, and how she treated him during the delivery process. I can tolerate bad attitude directed towards me, but I will not tolerate it when directed towards my family members.During my last visit to the office, Dr. Okuda was asked about a bill by the front office staff while standing near the waiting area. Those of us waiting to be seen were treated to Dr. Okuda going on a tirade about how there wasn't enough money left to pay the bills. … How inappropriate and unprofessional.

I was recommended to Dr Okuda by an aging friend who passed away a yr ago. I recommend Okuda b/c she is someone you can trust. I got to know her well during my pregnancy and she delivered my baby. She was thorough and knowledgeable.

My experience was horrific. I had twins at 34 1/2 weeks. Spent four days in th hospital after the C-section, during which time, I started to blow up like a balloon. I also had trouble breathing. I was told that it was normal and sent home.During the next two weeks, I blew up like the Pillsbury Dough Boy, despite the fact that I was drinking a TON of water, as I was told. I must have placed over a dozen calls over the course of those two weeks and was told it was normal and prescribed anti-anxiety medications.Finally, when I went in for my two week post-op check up, th nurse took my blood pressure, left the room and went to go get the doctor. I was told to go to the ER and check in (I was never told exactly what my blood pressure was, but I suspect it was stoke out range). After some X-rays and tests, Dr. Okuda came in and told me that my lungs were filling up with liquid and there was a "chance" I may have Peri-natal Cario Myopathy and left the room. She couldn't stay because she had a… Christmas party to host.That night, I was actually moved up to the ICU because my heart rate went so low that no on else wanted to deal with it. Over the course of the next three days, I was given Lasik and basically peed off 30 pounds. During my three day stay in the hospital, I was never visited or contacted by Dr. Okuda. I was also nver told what I had or what had caused it.Never once during the course of those two weeks in-between my delivery and two week post-op check-up, was I told to take my blood pressure and /or weigh myself. Very simple but telling tests. The degree of incompetence and lack of caring is appauling. I have a friend who also had her last child delivered by her practice 4 years ago who just found out that the doctors left a SPONGE inside her that has caused all kinds of problems.
