Being born and raised in the Detroit Michigan area, and having lived in several other cities in Michigan, Ohio, and Washington State has given me an appreciation of the wonder and beauty of diversity. Before I was able to attend college to be what I really wanted to be in life, I worked as an auto mechanic, painter, and crane operator in a steel mill. After completing bachelor degrees in Psychology and Sociology I worked in community mental health while obtaining a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have worked to achieve an independent counseling license. All together 23 years of experience in mental health and substance use disorder treatment in various forms. I have two adult children who married and between them both have given me 7 awesome grandchildren to spoil. My hobbies include reading good books, taking day trips to places I've never been before, spoiling grandchildren, and meeting with friends and family for special dates in our lives.
