Dr. Dora Elia Cantu, MD

My mom was referred here for her eyes, the first time she had her eyes checked w/O paying a copay, the 2nd time she came due to a drop the Dr prescribed that caused her eyes to get an allergic reaction also no copay. This time we came for a glaucoma exam we show up in time, and then they asked for a $192 copay which she was never told about, they said she was supposed to know her insurance benefits, my mom is 70 years old she barely remembers anything at times. She has Medicaid but she didn't know she had to bring it with her. I work for an optometrist and we always let patients know how much and if there's a cancellation fee. I've been in this field for 8 years and have done contract work on my days off for other doctors and we always let them know. They even told us she will get a bill for the $25 cancellation fee even though we showed up. So we will not be paying that because they were in the wrong not my mother. Stay away from this place. Even the Dr. Cantu wasn't any good she… quickly looked at my mom's eyes the first time didn't explained anything and just told her to come back for a glaucoma exam without any reason as to why and took off.

It was ok. But the office when they finally called me in was not orderly. It was small and confining.i Could hear private conversations going on. I don't need to hear that. Dr was nice but in a hurry. Talked over my head. Technicians were not helpful. I was being rushed, i won't go back I felt like I was a number.

Dr cantu is a very compassionate. dr cantu did surgery in my eyes was very good and safe. The office staff is awesome
