Dr. Doranna Christenson, MD

I hired Dr. Christenson when I found out I was pregnant 3 years ago and unfortunately lost that pregnancy. She was very compassionate and we were seen expecting again. She had a tendency to make me feel silly/stupid for questions I asked and actually asked to induce me 2 weeks early because that was the weekend she would be working. I was induced at 40 weeks and have a healthy boy. I am not pregnant again and have not had such a great experience. Labs she requests aren't faxed at all or in a timely manner, and when I call to have them re-fax (because the lab has no record of a lab being requested), they attempt to fax my cell phone. My most recent grievance happened when I contacted her office for help with a chronic condition I've had for 24 years and needed to see her so she could issue a prescription for me to treat at home (as I have all the equipment to do so). I was told twice to go to the ER for something that did not require a visit and when I voiced my displeasure at the… potential cost, as well as time and having to take my 2 year old, she still did not help. I had to see my family doctor to receive exactly what I asked her for. I have since moved to a new doctor and am very happy.

Easier to get appointment than others, goes the extra mile to make sure all the information is correct. Always makes sure I hear directions and understand solutions. Always follows up.

Dr. Christenson is a caring woman who knows her patients. I suffered a micarriage while on vacation and when I went into the Dr. Office she started my appt with a hug acknowledging my loss. Since then she delivered our 3rd child and she will deliver our one on the way!

I changed doctor's about 1 year ago after Dr. Christenson was unable to help me get pregnant after 3 years of trying. She threw clomid at me right away which eliminated that option with my new doctor. I am now 20 weeks, and we got here without the help of a specialist or drugs. The reason for my review today is that I received a collection notice from a 3rd party on behalf of Dr. Christenson. I never received any paper bill, or other correspondence from her or her office staff that I had an outstanding bill until I received the notice. If it was an outstanding debt from over a year ago why am I just now hearing about it, and through a company that is threatening to report it to the credit bureaus? Highly advise finding another doctor for more than one reason.

Was referred to this doctor and was highly disappointed. At my first appointment I was about 10-12 weeks pregnant. Instantly got a bad vibe, but everyone told me it was because I was pregnant and sensitive so I kept going back. Around 25 weeks I started having extreme pain on my left side. Went to the ER where I was sent home after they contacted her with a perscription for VERY minimal pain medication. Pain continued and I was told I had a UTI. Pain still continued dispite antibiotics and more than two weeks later, multiple office/hospital visits passed a huge kidney stone. I should have never been put through that and she acted like I was just making it up even though I had visable blood in my urine and an ultrasound showed a severely dilated kidney and ureter (even though I wasn't told this, another dr later reviewed the imaging). The labor did not go much better. Needless to say I have switched doctors.

I really liked this Doctor. First, having a female doctor to take care of your female parts is always better. She was very kind and took great care of me. I had the results of my exams the same day. The staff is very friendly and they don't make you feel like you're here just for a doctor they treat you like a person not a patient only.

I saw this doc a few times after her Nurse Practitioner left. She was rude, had terrible bedside manner, and would discuss my health while walking away from me down the hall. She also, prescribed a drug that was contraindicated for me. After contacting her office to inform her of my new discovery, and after I had been on the drug for 4 months, she refused to return my phone call. Now, I hope that due to her neglect, I don't stroke out while still in my 20's. I have since switched doctors and found someone who has a fantastic bedside manner, who is very informative, and what a doctor should act like.

I would strongly recommend that you research this doctor. You are going to find the same type of reviews everywhere. She is rude, condescending and insensitive. She gets angry when you ask questions. She is on some kind of scary power trip. Beware.

Dr. Christenson advised me that I was not pregnant when I was actually 4 weeks. I ended up losing my baby and never heard from her a single after being admitted to the E.R. Since then I have changed my care to the OB/GYN that performed my surgery in Dr. Christenson's adscence.
