She attended the Dental Hygiene Program at University of Pennsylvania and received her B.S. from Indiana University. She practiced dental hygiene and coordinated dental research studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry's Pharmacology Department before matriculating at the dental school. Dr. Hoyt-Rehm graduated with honors in 1983, and then completed a Hospital Residency in General Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She is a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. She has remained current by attending the annual continuing education programs offered by the Jersey Shore University Medical Center and University of Pennsylvania.
