In a good way. Knowledge, professionalism, ability to rapidly assess and advise in a way that is uplifting is representative of a successful clinician.

He really knows what he's doing.

Dr. Ahrends is an intelligent guy that know his stuff, my only complaint is he likes to talk about himself more than listen. Dr. Ahrends office is so poorly run that I would not recommend him to anyone. I would call in the middle of the day to make appointments and it would go to voicemail and then the voicemail would say its full and you cant leave a message...and you will get this same result if you try to call after office hours. Billing nightmare! His office staff had issues getting all my billing covered under my insurance and never bothered to let me know, they never sent me any correspondence or anything verbal until nine months later I get a huge bill in the mail. I called office to get and explanation and was given a blow off answer by receptionist then office manage Frida was even worse...she was completely rude, unprofessional and condescending. She offered no help at all then told me to take it up with Dr. Ahrends and he is only in on Mondays and doesn't take phone… calls.

On the whole, Dr. Arends is good. >Location excellent>Ease of making appointment good>Spends adequate time with you>Knows his medicationsBUT Do NOT chose this doctor if you need to call after hours or on the weekends.He has no answering service, no voice mail. So if you need to reach him, you must do so during office hours.
