Dr. Douglas Warren Benson, MD

After two shoulder surgeries, I was paralyzed and the second surgery left the joint dislocated. On the advice of another physician, i went to Stanford and had an artificial shoulder surgery. I was "fixed." I would still be paralyzed if it wasn't for the excellent surgery at Stanford and the excellent physical therapy I received at Pillsbury Physical Therapy under the excellent care of Will Wilbur. It has been 5 years and I am still recovering from the first two shoulder surgeries at Enloe. I don't blame the hospital.

My brother had major shoulder surgery with this Dr. Upon the follow up appt. Dr . was extremely rude and he left the room without showing any concern for the healing of his shoulder which was not healing properly. My brother is still in rehab and doing everything he can to get better. Dr. Benson needs to take a course in humanity.

He was quick to respond to the emergency, highly skilled, compassionate, down to earth, humerous, and honest. His followup is amazing. He called every day for a week to check in to see how things were going. The surgery was very succsusful. We couldnâ??t have asked for a better surgeon! He made the impossible possible! I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone. We are very grateful to have him in our life.

He is very arrogant, and does not spend any time at all to explain or answer questions, even when asked, he literally walks out of the room while you're asking! Very unkind, extremely cold.

Did not meet with family members before or after surgery. Despite our complaints, he never did show up - sent his P.A. instead as well as his partner in the practice. After complaining to hospital, he finally called without explanation as to why he did not come to speak with us after surgery. Would not recommend.
