Dr. Douglas J Benton, DO

So far I have had a decent experience with Dr Benton but he REALLY needs to make changes to his staff at the front desk and over the phone. They are not only rude but they have made repeated mistakes regarding an order for a mammogram- the referring agency had to call back 2 times over 2 weeks to set up the appointment and could not because the order was sent incorrectly. They messed up the numbers on my insurance card even though they had copies. I got my test results online through quest and shows possible infection. I called to discuss the test results; she said she would transfer and hung up on me. I called back and she was very rude. I don't know if it's worth it to put up with this.

I have been a patient of Dr Doug's for 36 years. He is always listening to me and answers all my questions. He makes me feel like he really cares about me and my health. I don't sit in the waiting room very long at all. Dr Doug and his nurse are very thorough. The front desk is very friendly when I come in and check out. I owe my life of good health to Dr Doug Benton

I have been looking for a new Primary for the last 6 years and Dr. Benton is the first doctor I have been to that actually took the time to listen to my concerns and give appropriate advise and order necessary tests and referrals. He was very professional and knowledgeable. My hunt is over, I have found my new doctor!

Ever since Ascension took them over I have had nothing but issues with the billing. I love Dr Benton but this Ascension seems only interested in money and not the patient. As most of you know , dealing with the billing departments can become a very long and stressful procedure to correct. Been working on one now for over 3 months and just got another bill today with the same errors. Might be looking for a new doctor soon and this is disappointing since I have been his patient for so long,

Saw the doctor about my bad ones and he wrote a prescription for pain meds, i visited the office for a refill but explained that I have an MRI in 5 days so I don't want to pay 25.00 now and after he sees me for the MRI results, they said no, it would have been a total of 75.00. For the same thing, my knee. I walked out in pain thinking. It's all about the money, "First, do no harm".

My husband hasn't been in for 5 years so he calls to make an appointment. they ask where he has been going, he said he hasn't gone anywhere, so he is put on hold so she can talk to the dr, she comes back and asked if he is on any pain meds, he said no how can i get pain meds when i just told you i havent been to a doctor. Then she proceeds to tell him that they will have to treat him like a new patient and that they wont give him any pain meds. He hasnt even told him he has a problem to need any pain meds, what is the hang up with these people with pain meds. she said we have people come in and 2 months later they need pain meds, he said so if i break my leg in 2 months you wont give me something for that, she says oh well we'll have to see at that time. then he makes his appt and they tell him he can come in end of may.. lol its the beginning of FEB. these people are absolutely crazy. i cannot believe their lack of professionalism they should not be a part of bcbc/bcn - they shouldnt… be in buisness at all.

Super professional doctor, listen, cares and great instincts once you get by the front desk,which tends to seem disinterested at times.

First I have to say that I do not go to the doctors very often and I'm not aware of certain rules that doctors may have. But I tried to make a appointment to get my knee and ear checked and was refused because I made a office visit at a different doctors office since my last visit with Dr Benton. I don't understand why I got refused and the only explanation I got was that he doesn't accept returning patient after leaving his practice. I feel that I got discriminated but not sure what for. Just wanted to throw my experience out there and warn people about this and to ask if you would consider a different doctor that wouldn't turn anyone away. Thank you.
