Douglas W. Bogan, DDS
Dr. Doug Bogan grew up in West Texas, received a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Texas Tech University and his DDS from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. He has practiced general dentistry in Houston since 1973. Dr. Bogan is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society. He serves as a Delegate to the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association. He has served as president of the Greater Houston Dental Society and currently serves on the Strategic Planning Committee. An active member and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, he has served as president of the Houston Academy of General Dentistry and currently serves as Regional Director, Region 18 of AGD, representing the Texas Academy of General Dentistry to the parent organization.
Dr. Bogan is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, …and the Academy of Dentistry International. He currently serves as secretary-treasurer of the Texas Section of the American College of Dentists. He was honored to be a nominee in 2003, 2006, and 2008 for the Texas Academy of General Dentistry Dentist of the Year. He is 2009-2010 president-elect of the University of Texas Dental Branch Alumni Association.
Dr. Bogan is a member of the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education Alumni Association, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He holds certification in enteral sedation with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and a certificate of standard proficiency with the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Bogan is married to Diane who is an office manager. They have two children, Brad, an attorney in San Antonio, and Lacy, a C.P.A. in Houston. His interests include cycling, hiking, and baseball. He leads a small group Bible study at Willow Meadows Baptist Church. He also does volunteer dentistry; he has led approximately 10 mission trips to the border area of northern Mexico, volunteers regularly at the San Jose Clinic in Houston, and participates in Texas Missions of Mercy through the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation.
