Dr. Douglas William Fain

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Fain, his assistant, and the office staff. Everyone was very friendly, professional, thorough, and my visit was smooth start to finish. I highly recommend Dr. Fain, especially those looking to have their wisdom teeth removed.

The help is the most rude and unpleasant experience I've had with any type of service especially for a dr office I call them the help because calling them any kind of professional term would be wrong... first off my appointment was move an hour later because of an impending snow storm that's fine but we had other appointments that couldn't be moved at the last minute so my ride had to go to her allergy appointment and they wouldn't proceed with my tooth removal till she returned and were very rude and unpleasant about that saying now we have to wait for that to return from her allergy appointment mind you we had already moved our schedule around for them but they got very angry and very rude and rough with me because we had been flexible with them and moved our appointment for them... I woke up during surgery and now months later I am having large chunks of tooth poking threw my gums when I called and told them it is still very painful a month before the teeth fragments started poking… threw the gums the front staff said its normal no need to come in for a check up now I am pulling the fragments out at home instead of dealing with the most unprofessional front staff I've ever dealt with... o and I got dry sockets because the rude and completely unprofessional dental assistants said to get the blood taste out go home and swish around a coke do that multiple time right when u get home since I was told that by a (professional) I did it without any research bad idea

Rude staff. Record them, when discussing your bill. So you have evidence. Before working on me, he asked his staff if I knew how much it was going to be. When he pulled my tooth out, his assistant told me to swallow my blood multiple times and I refused. I have gone to other oral surgeons and they said that is not normal. And Fain didn’t even say anything to the assistant, her tone of voice was very rude. Rude the whole time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Also, it was my first time doing a tooth implant and I was never shown a video or anything. And they made me feel that it was my fault that I didn’t know what I was expecting.

Seems to be average to below average. I was the last appointment of the day at the Shawnee Mission office and everybody including Mr. Fain wanted to get out of there. I wish he would have spent more time with me. MAYBE his bedside manner and staff would have been different if I went to the Olathe office. When I was leaving I stopped in the restroom, for a brief stop and he and his staff had packed everything up and had beat me to the front door. Also make sure you go over your bill cafefully, even if it doesn't cost you extra. IE: Insure that your insurance company isn't overbilled or billed for serviced not performed! Because it still goes against your yearly total.

Outstanding doctor with great communication skills

Not knowing what to expect, I was very anxious having 2 teeth extracted. To my surprise, it was the most uneventful dental experience Iâ??ve had. Doctor Fain and his assistant were great and really helped to lessen my anxiety.

The Doctor was great but the staff is extremely rude. I don't plan to go back!

Dr. fain and his staff were calm, soothing, and encouraging when I went to have my wisdom teeth removed. Everything he did was gentle and kind. He personally called me that evening to see how I was doing. Both my husband and I were greatly impressed with him.

Best oral surgeon I've ever had. His surgical skills are head and shoulders above any other oral surgeon and I've been seeing oral surgeons on a regular basis since 1974
