Dr. Douglas H Fraser, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr Fraser for over 10 years now. Best thing trust ever could of happened to me.

I was a patient of Dr. Fraser for over 9 years. I came to him as a patient with mild depression and had just had had a brain injury and was dealing with greater depression due to the injury. Over the years I was prescribed medication after medication. Never really switching anything. He just added and added more and more medication. Eventual, I was maxed out on 5 psychiatric medications and then he added a diet pill on top of all the other medications, even though I was suffering from tremendous anxiety. He had put me on the highest doses of all the meds. Dr. Fraser basically saw me for 10 min every 4 months unless there was an addition of a new medication. That was absolutely not enough time to get even a sliver of what was going on with my case. I eventually encountered a health care worker that looked at my massive medication list suggested I seek another doctors help in looking into my medications list, brain injury, and mental health history. This person saved my life! I… never thought Dr. Fraser could be the biggest part of my decline in mental status, but he was THE most significant deficit in my mental health treatment. More than two years after meeting that health care worker, I am now on ONE low dose medication and I am only now becoming aware of my true mental status. I did not do the medication reduction alone!! I needed help from many doctors and community resources. I had to relearn how I viewed psychiatrist and mental health care. I was a bit jaded, but I persisted in being my own best advocate It has taken a long time but I am thriving again. RUN, do not walk from Dr. Fraser!! I only found out later, once my head was clear, that he is suffering from his own issues with substances and perhaps mental health. The area psychiatric community is small here in Pensacola, so you eventually talk with other patients who have suffered as a result of his incompetent care. If you are a current patient, get a second and maybe a third opinion on your case. He is really, really bad new and should be disbarred. I am currently working on reporting him to the appropriate board. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING HE HAS TOLD YOU!! **but do not stop care or stop any medications with out doctor supervision. Get help from someone else asap!

As a result of his treatment in his office, I had a breakdown. He never asked me if I was ok, or said he was sorry he had upset me. Sent the Rx to the pharmacy and told me I had gone past my appointment of 15 mins. I left his office very upset, but the office staff never noticed.

I called to make an apointment,,had seen him for several years,,lost my insurance,,so have not seen him in about 2 years,,so i called today to make an apt,,and said they don't take medicare or medicaide,,i ask if i could pay cash,,,and she said if i could pay $80. cash for a visit,,i don't need medicaide,,as if that is any of her business,,so she said no i could not see him even if i paid cash,,

This guy doesn't care about patients at all. All he will do is write scripts for pills. Don't bother him with any problems. He does the bare minimum. I was applying for disability due to severe depression and he didn't want to see me because it would require paperwork. I had seen this guy years before he left Pensacola. Not sure why he left, but I think he has severe mental issues himself. Don't waste your time or money. I reported him to insurance company and psychiatric board.

He made a mistake on the date he wrote, scripts, refused to rewrite, Then ripped them up and threw them at me. Told me to go to E.R. He wanted them to call him. Went to Navy E.R. They had a big laugh, as All My scripts are filled there They told me he needed to go back to school ,as he could't count. They copied all my Script record, they normally don't do. He refused to look at it! Because of his treatment, being suisidle at the time. I was on life support for over 5 days, as a result of his treatment. Be ware be careful of this Mr. Faser

My wife was under his care for two years and all he did was prescribe tranquilizers and sleeping pills. He was not interested in hearing my input/observations even though my wife was unable to articulate her problems. After a psychotic break resulting in a one week stay at WFL Hospital's Pavillion, she was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. In talking to staff doctors, they asked me how long she had been exhibiting these symptoms. My answer of one year surprised them and were puzzled why she had not been diagnosed earlier. I wouldn't let "Dr." Fraser treat my goldfish. Look elsewhere.

This doctor is horrible. Impersonal and downright rude. Embarrassed me in front of the entire office of staff and patients. The office staff is nice, but I found out later that they gave out my personal information to another patient on their prescription. Will NEVER go back.

He needs to retire! I had seen him before he left his practice in Pcola and then again when he returned. The only excuse I can make for him is he is severely mentally ill himself and in no way shape or form is he, or should he be allowed to see patients. I have been an R.N. For over 30 years and I can spot a worthless, uncaring doctor when I meet one. He was the most uncaring,rude doctor I ever saw. Reported him to board as well as my insurance company. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

Dr. Fraser does not seem to care about a new patient. You cannot ask a question until he is finished with his questions. Dr. Fraser does not allow a patient to explain anything. He accepts only yes or no answers. If he does answer a question, he only answers with one word or two. If you ask him to elaborate, he says, "I already answered that!" I have made a follow up appointment with my primary physician to let him know not to refer any of his patients to this doctor. It is a waste of my money and my insurance carrier's money.
