When one of my sons was about 3 he was having a very hard time learning to talk. Dr Gregory’s solution was for me to write down every new word that was understood. He and I could talk to each other. Dr Gregory even told me his problem talking was because his older brother never stopped talking. When he started kindergarten I worried that no one would understand him. They did recommend speach therapy. While in the first grade, they encouragad me to see an ENT doctor. That doctor said my son’s tubes were very very narrow. He said it was a miracle that he heard anything at all. He scheduled surgery to put tubes in his ears. After surgery his ears had to adjust to sounds. Some times he would cover his ears. Instead of wasting my time writing down words, I wish Dr Gregory would have taken the initiative to get my son the help he needed when he was 4. I play this over and over in my head and wonder what could I have done differently.
