Dr. Douglas Matthew Hassan, MD

I must amend my earlier review; I asked to get meds in advance of surgery so I could have all preparations taken care of, but was told that would not be possible. It was possible; I have everything I need and am now ready. Thank you.

In all fairness, my complaints are not about the doctor he was excellent but about the office service and follow up. my first appointment was a week before the office moved from one location to another. Therefore I feel the follow up was very below average and the scheduling for my surgery which was three months out was very below par--made four or five calls to the office finally somebody followed up and from there on, things were fine. If I hadn't had so much hand pain, I probably would not have scheduled surgery till well into the following year so they could get their move and act together. Dr. Hassan diagnosed my condition spot on so I have nothing but high priest marks for him. His office staff is very gracious and I feel that once the movie is way behind them things will go more smoothly; it was just my luck that I scheduled things too close to their move

Have been a patient numerous times. Certainly not incompetent as stated by one reviewer. Just had another injection into the thumb...no problem. Every surgery has been successful...wrist, shoulder, hand. I would not use another surgeon knowing his level of expertise. On a side note, the scarring from all the procedures is really non-existent. Just another example of his skill as a surgeon. I'm sorry you may have had a bad experience but it would be a shame for your review to discourage someone from seeing Dr. Hassan.

Incompetent and arrogant as well.

I was really nervous about having my surgery (basal joint arthroplasty) and put it off for years. As it turns out, I couldn't be happier with my experience with Dr. Hassan - this includes my experience with Dr. Hassan, his staff, and the hospital. The whole process was considerably less painful (physically) than I recalled from a past surgery of the same type. I have especially enjoyed having his office, the hospital, and the hand therapists all in one location. Now, I regret waiting so long.

Every thing went will and fast was a great Dr. Really explain every thing. If you don't under stand he will. Explain were you can. Great Dr.

I have basal thumb arthritis and i got a steroid shot from Hassan. He missed the thumb joint completely, the injection did not even hurt like they do when they go into the joint, and the shot did absolutely NOTHING to ease the pain at all. I have had 2 steroid shots in that thumb joint before that one and they made a crunchy noise when it was injected and it hurt and they both took away the pain completely for 3 months. No point in having Dr. Hassan do the thumb surgery if he can't even find the thumb joint.
