Dr. Douglas Harry Jones, DO

If all doctors were like unto Dr. Doug Jones, you wouldn't need to bounce around from Dr. to Dr. 28 years of sickness, has wreaked havoc upon me, and my loved ones ( family ). After a few visits with Dr. Jones, I was finally diagnosed with an immune deficiency disease. I am thankful for all the Dr's. at the Tanner Clinic; however; Dr. "D" and HIS love for his patients couples with his specialty in Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. I can finally see an actual future for my family and I. Thanks bud, and for your staff! Jason ??

This Dr is rude and not in the least bit professional

Our daughter was diagnosed with a peanut, tree nut and egg allergy since she was an infant. Local allergists told us that it was so severe that Epi-Pens should be carried at all times and strict avoidance of the allergen should be maintained. For a parent, this is devastating to hear for your child. The anxiety and panic that goes with every meal is difficult for everyone. We found Dr. Jones through researching studies and clinical trials with regards to food allergies. Little did we know that OIT was an option for food allergies and that Dr. Jones was one of the first doctors to put it into practice. We flew from Indiana to Utah to meet him and he spent an hour and a half talking with us. His knowledge of food allergies, symptoms, treatments, etc. was enlightening. We committed that day to going though OIT with him and traveling to his office. My daughter now experiences total food freedom and we are forever grateful to Dr. Jones and his entire staff. OIT doctors give up so… much of their personal time and family time to address patient issues 24 hours a day. It takes a special kind of doctor to have these qualities and Dr. Jones is at the top of the list!

My son saw Dr. Jones for what we thought were allergies, but because Dr. Jones took the time to ask questions about my son's symptoms and onset of the illness, he gave us the correct diagnosis, something several other doctors had missed. I am so grateful that Dr. Jones didn't rush through the visit. He was thorough, caring and very knowledgable. We also didn't have to wait very long. We were taken back within 5 minutes of checking in. It was a fabulous experience and I highly recommend him!

Dr. Jones has literally saved our son's life in more ways than we will ever hope to know. When your son is deathly allergic to peanuts and your regular allergist writes you a prescription for an Epi-pen and says "good luck and be careful," you leave his office and enter the Twilight Zone. Nobody wants to be "inconvenienced" by not eating peanuts when your child is in the room, even though his life depends on it. Family and friends just don't get it. You stop going to friends' houses, for fear they have been eating PB&J earlier in the day, so instead you invite them over and watch peanut m&ms spill out of their kids' pockets, you have to escort your child away from his friends at Halloween because they are eating Reese's peanut butter cups around him, you end up having to homeschool him because a school lunch room is a peanut party every day. You end up changing your entire life, losing friends in the process, just to keep your child alive. You start your own research on the internet.… You find NAET. You try it for 6 months. It works for all of your friends, but not for your child. You read research papers every night, trying to find something that might help your son. You start ordering probiotics from Japan, because they are the only ones that supply this particular strain. You hear whisperings of a new treatment called Oral Immunotherapy, but you don't even know where to start. You hear about a doctor in Utah on the news who has been treating kids with life-threatening food allergies with great success. You then ask your current allergist about oral immunotherapy. He scoffs at the idea and assures you that it won't work. After all, your kid also has Eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE) and no doctor in the world would take on a case like that. Deflated, but determined to help your son, you ignore your current allergist and call Dr. Jones's office to set up an appointment. You have nothing to lose. He tests your child to find out what he is allergic to and lays out a plan. The process will take about six to eight months, depending on how your child handles the treatment. You prepare yourself mentally as you show up for your child's first treatment and take a leap of faith as they give your child his first micro-dose of peanut. We sit in the waiting room with several other nut-, wheat-, egg-, and milk-allergic kids and their moms who have been on this road for months already. They are calm and collected. You talk with them and realize their kids were just as allergic as yours, and some even more so. You start to relax a little as you are talking with other parents who were just as nervous on their first day as you are now. As the doses slowly increase, you realize that your child is slowly building up a tolerance to peanuts. Fast forward six months and your son is now eating 6 peanuts a day. You laugh as you realize that your son is literally Wesley from the Princess Bride, who has built up a tolerance to iocane powder. You now have peanuts in your own house -- your only safe haven. It has been 8 months now and you are still trying to tell yourself it's ok to have a Costco-sized container of dry-roasted peanuts sitting on the counter. You realize that everything will be ok. Your son can now go to scouts, friends' homes, parties -- anywhere that was previously off-limits -- without fear of death. Dr. Jones has literally not only saved our son from potential death, but has saved our sanity as his parents. He has literally given him a life that others have always considered normal. Dr. Jones and his staff are great to work with. Sometimes the front desk is hard to get a hold of because they are so busy, but just keep at it because it is definitely a life-changing experience. Every time we talk with someone who knows someone with a food allergy, we give them his information right away. We wish we could shout this from the rooftops, but I guess the internet will have to do. No one should have to live their life in isolation and they don't have to. We can't recommend Dr. Jones enough.

Dr. Jones is the best doctor I have. I have seen numerous doctors over my life time trying to find a diagnosis for the pain and swelling that has haunted me every day for as long as I can remember. Dr. Jones, was the first doctor who was willing to spend the time to listen to me, run the proper tests, diagnosis me and find the proper treatment and medication I needed to get my life back. He is kind, respectful, and caring doctor. I owe him so much and am proud to call him my doctor.

He was very thorough and conscientious about not testing for allergies and making sure I was aware that my insurance may not pay for all the testing. He seemed to know his field of practice very well.

I have had approximately 30 appointments with Dr. Jones over 2 years. In addition to Dr. Jones' excellent clinical skills, I have found him consistently personable and approachable. I can not express how grateful I am for his amazing care!

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Jones now for 3 years. In that time he has changed her life completely! He is so willing to investigate each concern and come up with a game plan to solve the problem. We have always felt like we were his top concern while in his office. Dr. Jones has always been so understanding and wiling to help during the most scary times. He is very knowledgeable in his field and is considered by many to be the Very Best that's out there! I 100% agree! I am so glad to have learned about the services he provides. Dr. Jones, his nurses and staff have been wonderful to work with. Thank you for all you have done!

Dr Jones is a highly knowledgeable specialist who, through experience and results, rates as one of the best food allergy specialists in the world. I have spent much time analyzing doctors and their various treatments for allergies. Dr Jones has successfully treated approximately 450 patients with food allergies allowing them to consume the food in their day to day life in unlimited amounts. He is warm, friendly and professional and has been wonderful in helping our family in treating food allergies.
