Dr. Douglas Andrew Kaufman

Even if I had not just been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and had come to see Dr Kaufman for the removal of a hang-nail, I still would have expected more compassion or empathy from him. He was dismissive and completly detached from me as his patient and just as a human being. When I shared a suggestion from another RX, he would not respond.When trying to discuss some treatment options and potential outcomes, I even tried to appeal to him as an experience Doctor, to share some of the outcomes that other patients have experienced as a result of treatment plans that they choose. He would not and would refer to the program on his computer. When I left his office I was even more upset, but now I felt lost. I took control and I advise everyone to self-advocate for themselves, which is what I did. You don't have to be sick and treated badly

Dr. Kaufman has poor bedside manner for an Oncology Dr. He was not polite to the patient and family members. He looked at his computer during numerous visits, instead of addressing the patient and family. He did not follow standard practice of care for oncology concerns.
