Dr. Douglas David Mcmillen, MD

Dr. McMillen has been my primary doctor for four years and I am very satisfied with the care I have received from him.

My initial interaction with Dr. McMillen was not a good one and sI said I would never go to him again. Then an emergency came up and I could not get in with my PCP so I settled for him (since he was the only physician available). I went in for leg swelling. He said I had a cellulitis. He NEVER touched my leg!!! I went to teh ER a couple days prior to seeing him in his office and a cellulitis is something they would have diagnosed there. I did not have a source of infection nor was my leg red or warm. Total time spent with me = 10 minutes. Maybe even less than that. I was completely unsatisfied!!!! I will never see him again nor would I recommend any see him!!! Wouldnt trust my dog under his care. If you are looking for someone that cares or is remotely concerned about your health choose someone else

I have been a patient of The Emory Clinic since I relocated here in 2000. I was switched to Dr. McMillen when my doctor left the Emory Clinic. Dr. McMillen is very compassionate, understanding and ALWAYS takes the time to address my concerns. His nursing staff is not the friendlist bunch, however his care and professionalism are top notch! I recommend him to all my friends and my entire family see's him.

I was impressed on how he looked at my file; and was able to talk to me with great degree of knowledge of my history. Very impressed; that he came in; was friendly, and ready to speak to me on my problem. He was the first docotr; I ever been to that had a computer with him. I haven't had a primary care physician in years; until now. Thank you Dr. McMillen

My husband was throwing up for 3 days, so we tried to get an appt. with Dr. McMillen, his PCP. We were brushed off by his nurse (who said she had checked with him) and told to go to an urgent care facility instead. We did that (and had a great experience at North Atlanta Urgent Care, by the way) and the urgent care doc thought my husband had Hepatits A, and referred him to a gastrointerologist. The gastro wouldn't see my husband, b/c the referral didn't come from his PCP. It took us two and a half more days, numerous phone calls, and a very frustrating run around just to get an appointment with Dr. McMillen (three days later). In the meantime, my huband continued vomitting and wound up in the ER and admitted to the hospital before he ever got to see Dr. McMillen. The whole thing was a managed care nightmare, resulting in a one week delay in getting an accurate diagnosis. Ridiculous.
