I had a leaking mitra valve and Dr Murphy was able to repair it robotic. I was in hospital for four days. I am doing fantastic. Another surgeon wanted to do this surgery and cut my sternum. Be out of commission for about two months. So glad Dr Murphy was recommended to my husband. He has great bedside manner. He's the best.

Dr. Douglas Murphey is spot the best at what he does. His bedside manners are impeccable. He is very caring and takes out the time to listen and communicate with you as his patient. He is a true professional in every sense of the word. He believes in first class service as he and his staff demonstrated every time I had to visit his office . I would highly recommend Dr. Murphey to any patient seeking surgery because he an excellent doctor!

I've been told that the surgery it's a one time only procedure - is that true, as one of my repaired leaflets is failing?

Wanted to jump in here and say Dr Murphy performed robotic mitral valve repair on me in July, 2015 and he was well worth the drive down from Asheville, NC! Perfect results! No more shortness of breath nor dizziness. Bedside manner was perfect! Ditto on all other reviews! Was mowing my yard 2 weeks after the surgery. Literally! Ask someone that has had this procedure performed open heart how long they think it would have taken to mow their yard post op! Only complication was my fault. Didn't walk enough post op in the hospital and developed some blood clots in the lower part of my right lung. Now its a year and a half post op and I'm like new! This Dr is the benchmark for outstanding practice and performance. Don't wait until he retires to wish you would have gotten what you need done. He's the best by far!

Dr. Murphy and his staff essentially saved my life by performing a mitral valve repair, robotically of course. The caring professionalism on all levels shown by Dr. Murphy and all his employees was beyond expectation...simply amazing. One year later...I am as good as new, heart-wise, and have been this way just a few weeks after the operation. Going into the operation, I was calm, and even excited to proceed since my confidence level of the outcome was sky high...and there was no disappointment. Dr. Murphy and his staff are an incredible blessing to all who receive their care.

You were a miracle for my daughter when you said that you could remove her tumor with robotics. It saved her so much pain. She has muscular dystrophy and I am sure this type of surgery was a life saver for her. We will always remember you and how grateful we were that 6 years ago you did a great job with her surgery using the robotics.

Dr. Murphy recently performed the di vinci procedure to repair a leaking mitra valve. From the first time I met him, I felt comfortable placing my life in his hands. He is an expert on the subject matter and has an excellent bedside manner. He also ensures his staff is competent and makes sure you are taken care of. I am in my second week of recovery and almost completely pain/discomfort free. For anyone to have this surgery done any other way is almost barbaric. Dr. Murphy is the best!
