Dr. Douglas J Ryen, OD

Dr. Doug Ryen is a Doctor of Optometry who earned his degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2000 and brings more than two decades of hands-on eye care experience to his patients. A former owner of Pickerington Eyecare (2001–2022), he expanded his community presence by purchasing the Newark location in 2019 and the New Lexington practice in 2020; he now sees patients at both Trillium Vision Care sites. Originally from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and a Penn State Biology graduate (1996), Dr. Ryen combines small-town roots with a long-standing commitment to clinical excellence.

Known for his patient-focused approach and attention to optical detail, Dr. Ryen provides comprehensive vision and medical eyecare for patients of all ages. He has particular passions for high-quality eyewear curation, specialty contact lens craftsmanship, and evidence-based treatment of ocular surface disease—offering individualized plans that prioritize comfort, function, and long-term …ocular health. To give prospective patients a clear picture of his services, his clinical expertise naturally includes:
