Dr Sankar promised he would find out what was wrong with me. But instead, when HE felt out of options he dumped me and said there was nothing he could do for me....he is a horrible, spineless person and he will pay someday...by the Lord, not me

Dr Sankar is probably the best doctor I have seen. When I was admitted into the ER, I met him within 1 hour on a saturday, not even knowing my condition was neurological. He is sort of awkward in a way, I'm not sure if someone took that as poor bedsmide manner, but I actually like it. He came to my hospital room every day to check up on me, even during the weekends. He is incredibly smart and has referred me to very renowned doctors for other specialties. He does not however, sugar coat anything, which might be why the first person said he's very mean. But wouldn't you rather have a doctor be completely honest with you, regardless of how hard the news is to take, than one who tries to beat around the bush and does not tell you the entire story? There's no definitive test for full recovery for me, something could potentially happen in the next 5 years. Physically, I feel a lot better, but knowing it could happen again makes me more attentive to my sympstoms. Most doctors would have just… told me I'm cured. Whenever I call his office with a question or concern with symptoms, I usually get a call back within half an hour. He's really one of the best, i can tell he genuinely cares about my well being.

I found Dr. Sankar extremely thorough and attentive. He explains in detail the path of treatment and end goals. Okay, so maybe he likes country music, but otherwise he seems to be very caring.

Dr. Sankar had been treating my father for the early stages of Alzheimer's. When my father fell & was on life support, Dr. Sankar was called in. I went to speak with him.. In trying to protect my Mother, I wanted him to tell me the details and I would break them to her. He clearly said, "That's not how we're going to do this. I will talk with both of you at the same time." I HATED HIM, as we were out of our minds with fear, about my Dad.He then came into the waiting room and spoke with us, telling us that my Father's condition was dire and this was not going to work out...he was not going to come home. Every option we threw out, to sustain him, was heard by Dr. Sankar and then he laid out the cold, hard facts and made us understand. I have referred to him since 2007 as Our Voice of Reason. When he moved his practice to Yorktown Heights and my Mom needed care, we followed him! As of last week, I have become his patient. Bedside manner stinks? Maybe someone felt that. I think he's just… not overly-talkative. Normally, poor bedside manner would send me flying, but I count on his calm demeanor, dealing with serious medical situations.
