He just sent a letter he is “concierge” medicine now. At least 15 family members of ours will have to find new Drs and NP unless we want to pay a huge membership fee.

Some years ago, Dr. Severence, my primary care physician, refused to authorize the MRI that emergency physicians at John Muir Hospital ordered to diagnose the cause for sudden onset of severe cervical spine pain. My lawyer had to intervene before Severence would give me the necessary referrals. As a result of the delay, I suffered severe spinal cord compression that required emergency surgery and 3 months in a 4-point metal neck brace. I was left with permanent nerve damage and chronic pain that is worsening as I get older.

Dr. Severance and Sachie are great. I've seen both of them and I am very pleased with the care I've received. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They always call with my results even when they are normal. I would definitely recommend this office.

Telephone courtesy and response is awful. Prepare to wait a long time on hold and not have calls returned.

I have been going to Dr Severance my whole life and have never had a bad experience. The staff is so nice and takes time with each person despite having such a popular office. I always walk out feeling that I have been well taken care of. I do agree is answering service is horrible so I always make sure to call during to offices open hours.
