A straightforward surgery turned into a nightmare when an injury during the procedure led to serious complications and multiple additional surgeries/procedures. The severity of the injury kept changing, and some of my medical records were changed without notice, creating contradictions so severe that outside specialists cannot determine the full extent of the injury. This has been a painful, life-altering, and expensive ordeal. I would not recommend this provider.

Run. Hacked my first surgery. It failed after 3 months and now scar tissue is going to make second surgery 10 times harder and recovery much longer. Never performed an endoscopy beforehand, which current surgeon said is unheard of. Zero follow-up other than the standard office call. When it failed, I called the office and discovered that they had "parted ways" with Dr. Soltys... Good for Pittsburgh, bad for wherever he is now...

If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. I'm scheduled for my 7th surgery this week, after this hack job of a doctor botched my 1st AND second surgeries. Was told by Mayo surgeon that "it always comes back to the first surgery". I was told by Soltys that I'd have only 1 surgery! My 2nd surgeon performed #'s 3, 4, 5, 6 and now this 7th surgery, saving my life after several days in ICU, intubated & septic. Spent over 2 months in the hospital & have had countless ongoing complications. If you go to an ER & Soltys is the only surgeon available, RUN, GET IN YOUR CAR, TAKE AN UBER, BUT GO TO A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL! If you value your health & your life, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUTCHER!

Nightmare experience! After completing his surgery he left me with only 5% use of 1 vocal cord and no guarantee that I would ever speak again. I asked him if he nicked my vocal cord and he lied! He was fired. Dr Soltys never checked up on me and to this day he does't even know if I have a voice. He just walked away.
