Dr. Douglas Thompson, MD

I'm sorry to report doctor Thompson is very unkind to To deal with his nurse I cannot remember her name has a very nasty attitude. I am glad I no longer have to go back there. He needs to improve his bedside manner when you have cancer that's enough to deal with little long hearing what he thinks he's a right course of treatment. When you're telling him that he's not option at the time for you to travel that far away And now you any kind of chemo until you do what he thinks you need to do.

All thought I've only seen Dr Thompson one time, I'll have to disagree with the 2, one and two star ratings that was given to Dr. Thompson. During my visit yesterday, he AND his staff were very informative and interested in my well being. Because of this, I've made a follow-up appointment.

I could not agree more with the previous review, and my experience with Dr. Thompson was identical. It is my belief that good doctors listen to their patients and develop a bond of mutual respect and trust, however, Dr. Thompson does not foster that type of doctor/patient relationship. In my experience, attempts to question his choice of treatment were met with undisguised condescension and disdain. The only "saving grace" for me was the professional, competent, and compassionate nursing staff.

Dr Thompson mostly relays important messages thru his nursing staff and tries to provide brief, rehearsed answers to questions given to his nurses. He gets frustrated if you ask him questions regarding his proposed treatment method if he feels you’re insinuating HIS method may not be working as he has predetermined it should - he’s rigid in his thinking and seems to overlook blatantly obvious evidence of issues arising from his treatment plan. I’m not sure if it’s because he has too many patients, or if he is so arrogant based on his “years of experience” that he feels he has it all figured out without spending adequate time with the patient - it’s as if he does want the reality of the situation to challenge his predetermined course of action. I would strongly urge you to seek alternative options if you/your loved one needs a doctor that is tuned in, willing to be open minded enough to consider the facts/evidence, and spend time answering questions and probing a little deeper to… truly seek after the most effective treatment option available based on the circumstance at hand.
