Dr. Douglas M Vaughn, DO

I had been going to Dr Vaughn for years. Recently he was became almost combative. Several people that I know who used him have, like I have , quit using him. I asked him a question and was answered with "Well, if you want to be the doctor." He acts like anything less than life threatning is a waste of his time. In the past, I have sent a number of people to Dr. Vaughn. No more. I am very happy with my new doctor...as I once was with Dr. Vaughn.

I transferred to this Dr from a South Tulsa Derm. and found Dr Vaughn to be extreamly good and professional. I enjoy our banter while he makes me feel at ease during my exams. I recently had another basel cell removed and it was a very positive experience for not so "fun" proceedure but he made me feel comfortable. Kept me informed through out and allowed and even asked me to pose any questions or concerns I had. The only complaint I would have is that sometimes in the AM or PM there always seems to be a longer than normal wait. Last time my appt was at Noon- I arrived at 1130 and wasnt seen until amost 1pm. I do realize offices run behind but once you are into the exam room- hes always prompt about coming to see you - its the lobby wait that tends to take time.

I have been very impressed by Dr. Vaughn. He is very good at wat he does, and is always nice, listens, and explains everything. I am very happy with him as a dermatologist and if he was a family practice would love to have him as a family doctor. He is extremely knowlegeable in a lot of areas.

I have read some comments on a few sites and I have to say this isnt 1975. Dr are short in supply. Some only take certain types of insurance so getting in quickly isnt so much the norm. I have several specialists I see and NONE of them have immediate openings ( unless you get real lucky) and you generally have to wait since most Dr's over book due to the fact that 10% of patients dont call or show, they have to make sure they use the time they have to the max. of their ability. They schedule for the unexpected as well. Dr Vaughn spends time with me. Every visit ends in a question..." Do you have any problems, concerns or questions you would like to ask about todays visit" He and his staff have been nothing but spectacular to me and I highly recommend him. I dont know if the less than stellar reviews happened on an off day but after 2 years of being with Dr. Vaughn- I have nothing but praise for him and the service I get.

Dr Vaughn was very rude and rushed me through my appt. I have never been to a doctor that was so rude and not helpful at all. I will never go back and I have already scheduled an appt with another dermatologist.

He was rude, abrupt and condesending.

Having had sugery by another Derm Dr in Tulsa, the service and treatment by Dr. Vaughn and his staff was outstanding. I had NO problem in getting in to see him. He took as much time as I needed ( rare in this day and age) and answered everything fully and made certain that I understood all that had taken place in my appt. and what would come next. I dont even get that from my Reg. Physician let alone a specialist but I did on my visit with Dr. Vaughn

I have seen Dr. Vaughn twice and both times I had poor experiences. Dr. Vaughn has very poor bedside manner but I could get over that if that was the only problem with his practice. After having an item removed from my back I assumed everything was taken care of and my insurance methods followed. I was wrong about that when I received a letter detailing that my sample was sent to an out of network testing facility because that is where all of his items are sent. I won my appeal with my insurance company but make sure that if you use him to let their staff know to send it to the right facilities.

Short wait - very helpful!

He is the rudist and most condescending doctor I have ever seen. He would not answer any questions and would not listen to anything. My visit lasted less than 30 seconds.
