Schedule a glaucoma consult. Bad news when you walked in a packed waiting room with receptionist calling out patient's personal information including social security numbers. Then you had receptionist and other staff coming out into the waiting room to put numbing medication in the patient's eyes. Totally unprofessional. When you are called back other evaluations are completed and then Dr. Porter comes in. Barely looked in my eyes and started telling his assistant what I needed to be put into the computer. I asked him to pause that we were there for an evaluation only. After a brief and I do mean a few seconds look into my eyes started quoting to his assistant what I needed very quick to exit. Then they took me to a supposed scheduler that could give us all the financials and answer any questions about the procedures. She was unable to answer most questions in a complete sentence. When asked stated she had been there for a little over a year, could not add up the figures… correctly even with the assistance of a calculator. If all this was not bad enough they are not even licensed to complete the procedures at their location and it has to be completed in Franklin TN. Therefore, you are paying two different locations. Total disorganization. Totally unprofessional. First impression is do not trust the health of your eyes to this practice. There are too many other doctors around.

In the years since Dr. Porter did cataract surgery, I have had nothing by deterioration and poorer vision than before. Both he and Dr. Kegarise said my cataract was small; but they said I would see better, although I had no real symptoms. Dr Porter never followed up to see why my left eye is blurry. Wrong lens? Then I had a scar on my retina which appeared suddenly after the cataract surgery and required surgery by a retina specialist. My vision is shot; and it all started with Dr. Porter.

Dr. Porter spent a great deal of time with me and addressed all of my concerns. I could not be more pleased with the results of my surgery. He and his staff are great. I highly recommend.

He is a super great Dr., and I could not be more pleased with the vision I have now. This guy knows his stuff. His staff is great and I would highly recommend him for your best vision needs.

I went to see Dr. Porter after having very cloudy and blurry vision in my eyes that have seemed to be getting worse as I am getting older. I had a cataract consultation with Dr. Porter and his staff and they were great. Very thorough and he explained my options for surgery while suggesting a laser to perform my surgery - more accurate and better recovery time). I had surgery and I am seeing clearly again! I should have had this done years ago!

I went to see Dr. Porter on the advice of a friend when I was having problems with my left eye. Dr. Porter gave me great news that I won't need surgery!

I don't mind a brusque bedside manner, because I care more about a doctor's competence than being chatted up. However, I have severe reservations about Dr. Porter. It seems to me that he pushes patients towards cataract surgery when they don't need it yet for a while. A good doctor will explain symptoms, but tell you that it is your decision to have the surgery when you feel you need it. Dr. Porter seems to be most concerned with feeding his cataract surgery mill.

Fantastic out of the box thinker with a great bedside manor . By far the busiest cataract surgeon in bowling green and there is good reason for that .... He is the best period. Any whiners are just that.
