I had an excellent experience with Dr. Metzler, who repaired my ACL. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional, but also personable and genuinely caring. He took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and make me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. I always felt that I was in good hands and that my care truly mattered to him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, compassionate, and attentive orthopedic surgeon.

Our 13-year-old daughter underwent a complete ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair with Dr. Metzler, and we could not be more grateful for his expertise and care. From the very first consultation, he thoroughly answered every question we had, explained the risks and benefits of each graft option, and was completely upfront throughout the entire process. We traveled over an hour to Northern Kentucky specifically for him, and we would do it again without hesitation. One of the main reasons we chose Dr. Metzler is because ACL repair and reconstruction is truly his specialty—it’s what he does day in and day out, including for high-level collegiate athletes. Knowing our daughter was in the hands of someone who treats complex knee injuries at the highest level gave us tremendous peace of mind. His approach to recovery was exactly what our daughter needed—knowledgeable, structured, and appropriately aggressive with physical therapy. He pushed her when she needed it and praised her… progress, but always proceeded with caution and kept us aware of the heightened re-tear risks associated with her age and gender. His balance of encouragement and honesty gave us so much confidence. Now at 12 months post-op, she is back to full-contact sports with zero knee pain. Her trainers consistently comment on how seamless her recovery has been—truly one of the smoothest and strongest they’ve ever seen. Her scars look fantastic, and we could not ask for a better outcome. Dr. Metzler always took our concerns seriously, helped us find solutions, and supported us even when we chose to do some of her PT outside his practice. His team was efficient, friendly, and accommodating at every single visit. If you are searching for the right surgeon—especially for a young athlete—I cannot recommend Dr. Metzler highly enough. He is absolutely exceptional.

My wife had treated my wife a couple of years ago so I was happy to see that I would be seeing him. He took the time to explain my results (x-rays) and to offer options for treatment. He made recommendations to hopefully prevent any reoccurrence of my symptoms. I was very happy with my visit.
