Dr. Adrienne Marie Moore Haughton, MD

Dr. Haughton is a hidden gem. I’ve lived in Manhattan and Los Angeles and I am telling you that the best dermatologist (and fillers expert) you will find is in Stony Brook (and Commack!). I have struggled with Alopecia since I was a kid, little bouts that steroid shots usually help, but after a long haul COVID battle coupled with freezing my eggs, my hair was coming out in clumps. It was devastating and nothing helped- nothing. I did tons of research on all of the top doctors and saw many of them and they were all stumped. Finally, after reading about Dr. Haughton, I made an appointment and instantly felt like I was in good hands. She is warm, intelligent, thoughtful and really took the time to learn my history. She was the first one to recommend bloodwork and biopsies and found underlying causes that could be treated. She recommended a multilayered approach, including PRP treatment (which was far more affordable than the markups that I used to find in LA), and 4 months later, my hair… is no longer falling out and I am finally seeing regrowth. There aren’t enough words to begin to thank her. Additionally, after COVID and some of the underlying issues, I had lost so much weight that my face had lost significant fullness. We spoke about fillers and how they could possibly help. I was used to hearing LA pricing and was shocked to hear such reasonable and fair options offered by Dr. Haughton but that was nothing compared to her work. Since I had it done (and post vaccine) have been starting to slowly see friends I haven’t seen in the last 18 months or so, everyone is raving about how fantastic I look and how ‘whatever I have been doing, keep it up!’ She has made me feel like me again, after an incredibly tough time. I would recommend her to absolutely everyone!

Dr. Haughton is exceptional! I have never met a physician that was as thoughtful, intelligent and clearly skilled in her profession. Dr. Haughton is dedicated to the care of her patients. I have multiple issues (hair loss, underarm sweating, etc). Dr. Haughton clearly stays on top of cutting edge research and has truly helped me. I drive from Manhattan to see Dr. Haughton because she is just that good! I highly recommend!

Such a great bedside manner. Really felt heard. I had visited 7 Drs during my particular issue and she,was by far the best.I will def be using her again!!

She basically did not listen or pay much attention to symptoms, conditions and medications I was taking. Felt like she was condescending and stand offish. Staff was great at the Commack office.

I usually see a specific physician at Stony Brook Dermatology, however that doctor was out on vacation. I waited in the office, Dr. Haughton did not even look up from the paperwork as she walked into the office. (Usually you get a smile and a handshake)..finally, she says, "What are you here for, what do you want"...it was so awkward. I told her I had concerns about a few growths on my body and pointed them out, she barely looked at them...then I asked a few questions about skin care as she did a 'full body scan' on my request. Her replies were so cold, feelingless and vague. It was so impersonal and I felt very uncomfortable getting an exam from someone that made me feel uncomfortable to begin with. After she scanned (roughly I might add) She said; I can only remove two things, which ones do you want me to take off...I asked her well, which ones do you suggest removing first? She said it didn't matter. I pointed to the ones that were causing the most friction, and she got her… stuff together, numbed me up, removed them and basically just left. Didn't explain that I would receive a $120 bill because my insurance wouldn't cover them...never received a follow up call to make sure the results were negative...Overall it was a terrible, awful, cold experience...I understand bed side manner isn't that common anymore, but this doctor was so cold she was almost unhuman. I would NEVER EVER EVER go back there and strongly urge patients that want answers and comfort to not see this doctor. Maybe if you're a robot, this is the right fit for you.

Please stay away from this doctor! Her bedside manner was pitiful. Her diagnosis of my son's acne did not even include a close up examination...one look and she knew enough to make him feel bad, and me feel bad for bringing him. She did not care about my health concerns regarding the treatment she suggested, and had me defending the reason I brought him, while blaming me for the scarring that he has due to the acne...so confusing. I will never go to her office again.

I am not the "blog" type of person but in this instance i have to scream and shout to you guys about how much I LOVE DR.Haughton...I HAVE A WANTING NEED OF knowing people that NEED a Dermatologist JUST SO I CAN refer some patients to her...3 YEARS BACK I was struggling with and extreme case of hair loss which for the next 2 yrs forced me to wear hair pieces and wigs. My confidence was shot, i felt like everything but a woman, i cried almost daily at the site of my hair...I went to a dermatologist for over a year in which they injected my head with this liquid that i don't remember the name at a moment but I DO REMEMBER GOING EVERY 30 days and the pain i went thru during and a few days after every time...My hair would slowly grow back just to fall out again...BY THE GRACE OF GOD my dermatologist was pregnant and went out on medical leave forcing me to make a follow up appt with a different dr. in her practice...THIS WAS DR>HAUGHTON!!! The very first day i saw her she walked in the room… with a beautiful warm smile, asked me what i was there for, i explained to her my problems and as im talking she is reading my chart. As she is flipping thru my prior blood work she looks up at me and says " well ms.____ your iron is extremely low sweetheart, im surprised you have any hair at all" then she continued on explaining to me the iron levels, whats high, whats low & normal...I was extremely BELOW an average LOW number. She told me to start taking iron every single day and that I would see my beautiful full head of hair grow back...DO I NEED TO EVEN TELL YOU THAT IT HAPPEN JUST LIKE SHE SAID!! im ecstatic and also dumb founded because i cannot understand why no one else ever bothered to even take an extra look instead of just medicating me...I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL TO YOU ADRIENNE, see u in your office for my next f/u soon :)
