Dr. Ajay Bhandari, MD

Do not recommend this Doctor whatsoever. There is a reason the general consensus of all the other reviews is negative. Handles patients as if they are less than him. Diagnosis patients with psychiatric problems with very few relevant questions or understanding of the persons situation that may affect mental health. Very arrogant and dis missing of any concerns you might have with his opinion. I’m amazed at how this guy can be a Doctor actually. I could go on but I’ll leave it there. Would select zero stars but not sure if that’s an option.

Not recommended

Had to see this doctor because there was no other doctor available. To his credit, he changed my medication from one that wasn't working to one that worked well for me. However, I had to endure his insensitive, rude, arrogant and clueless comments everytime I saw him for my check-up and refill. I cannot believe this man is employed in the helping professions. He may have an understanding of chemistry and pharmaceuticals, but he has no understanding, insight nor empathy for his patients. I was delighted when I was finally able to switch to another psychiatrist.

DR, Bhandari is incompassioante and rude to his patients. Really don't know what his problem is, however, I hope that no one has to experience the rudeness and not giving a dran attitude that I experienced.

I am absolutely hurt by how i was treated and highly offended. If he would have taken the time to know me better he would have watched his mouth and how he talked to me. The details of what happened to my final decsion of leaving this doctor... I tell him i set some goals for myself, as i am walking out his door and id like to go back to school, he then looks me up and down with a look of disgust and ask me, "are you okay?," i said "what do you mean with like my mental stability about going back to school," he then says "no, what did u do before u came in here," i said i took a nap, why?" he then says, "loose some weight!" i said why do u say this to me everytime i come?" i feel like he totally ignored me doing something positive with my life but instead tryed to tear me down n degrade me forbeing over weight. He then goes on to say, "maybe thats how i feel" i told him i didnt give a fÃ?#* how he felt... Needless to say im no longer a patient of behavioral health in hagerstown, md. I… goto my family doctor to talk about my weight... Not to a mental doctor. And being that u working with people with mental issues, you should watch how u talk to these hurt people

First appointment I saw him, he asked what the problem I was experiencing, then asked me the activities I enjoy doing. His response was "Well you're still able to do all the activities you like I don't see why you're here"
