Dr. Alan David Furst, MD

Cannot rave enough about Dr Furst. He is thoughtful, knowlegable, brilliant and has an unbeatable breadth and depth of experience. As a critical care nurse w/over 40 yrs experience, I am fully confident in his care. He will be a massive loss when he retires, Vanguard should entice him to stay on. At that point i will be very sad to lose him as my Primary. PS, The office team his office @ Vanguard Randolph is wonderful. Ann H

Excellent doctor. Extremely knowledgeable. Very smart, excellent bedside manner and soo knowledgeable in medicine. Would recommend to everyone. He diagnosed my appendicitis in 1 minute I was in the Er in 30 minutes following a successful surgery. I was luckily it would have ruptured that day. He saved my life.

Everything about Dr Furst and his office was top notch. Ease of getting an urgent appointment, helpful staff and Dr who took his time and listened.

Dr. Furst has been my Primary Care Physician for over 20 years. He is incredibly in tune with your needs as a patient. I never feel rushed, I never feel like a number. Dr. Furst personally follows up with me to see my progress AFTER and in between visits. His staff, under Sue is amazing as well. He has taken my calls when I’m halfway around the world and he routinely consults with one of my specialist physicians. I saw the troll comments below from a seemingly sad, bitter patient. Never my experience. Since I have been a patient for over twenty years, I can attest that NONE of that person’s reviews are factual. It’s a shame that a keyboard warrior can type slanderous things...but then again, they are a self-admitted head trauma survivor...sounds like they should be lucky to be alive. Go to Dr. Furst’s website - he works with Vanguard Health (major NJ provider) and you can get a feel for how wonderful the practice is.

He was let go from three ER companies for being slimey. Be careful this guy is slime.

He was fired from his old practice. A practice he started. What does that tell you about this guy?

Saw him in Aug '80 in emergency room at St. Clares Denville. Gave him a history of a head injury a week prior. I was experiencing severe headaches, sensitivity to light. True indications that something was amiss. Sent me home without doing a C-Scan or considering overnight observation. 2 hours later, while at home, I went into a coma. With a head injury time is of the essence. Now, 38 yrs later, I am bedridden, while he is living it up, not even giving me a thought. Please ask yourself this: Why did he go from ER physician to a urgent care Dr. to a primary care Dr? BTW: Sued him and settled out of court. Not a mention of that in his history. Good old boys covering up. Stay away from this man!!!

Dr Furst is our family doctor. We receive excellent care by the NP and the MA as well as Dr Furst. Highly recommend
