Dr. Alan Roy Bank, MD

The office manager of Dr. Bank's demeaned me today. Yesterday I was in the office and the clerical giving me the breakdown paperwork for the upcoming procedure would not allow me to sit in the chair next to her. I pulled it out to the side about 2 feet to be safe for COVID seating but she demanded I put the chair back in it's original place. Left with no place to sit, I sat on the floor. I suffer from severe PTSD with slow processing so it took me a while to realize this was nuts...I'm 67 years old with two knees in braces. She would not offer me a chair so I sat on the floor like a dog. In punishment. Today, the office manager said that I was able to stand well enough...for her to make that 'diagnosis' was completely against my orthopedic surgeon's accommodations for my disability...she has no right to make that statement...she chose to demean my situation, not empath with an elder with obvious disability...knee braces...and lied about the space in the room. Very bad. Don't go there.

... to someone that I really hated. My mother was scheduled for her first colonoscopy/endoscopy procedure, the idea of which has always stressed and frightened her. It took a long time for my mom to finally reach the point of being comfortable enough with getting this done. She conquered her anxieties because she knew that she was in desperate need of this procedure. She deserves a round of applause for that. You know what she doesn't deserve? A doctor with an ego that's just as outrageously inflated as his stubbornness. With as scared as my mom was to even have this procedure done in the first place, you'd think any doctor's office would want to ensure the patient stays as calm and relaxed as possible. You'd think that. Instead, when my mom politely and very reasonably requested a different prep method, she was told "This is the only method Dr. Bank does. He won't change it for you or anybody. He's very strict." Yeah, no kidding! Strict is putting it mildly. Apparently, the guy… vehemently insists that the Suprep kit is the "only" way to get the proper results. Ok, well maybe that would be a thing we'd believe... if we didn't know better. I've had two colonoscopies myself. There are a variety of techniques, all of which work just fine depending on the individual. Everybody's different. For example, my mom and I have extremely sensitive guts. Literally the tiniest simulation of our bowels will do the trick. That's why when I had my colonoscopies, I asked for a less intense prep kit, and I was obliged. And that's exactly how it should be. I know my body. So does my mom. She and I know that the more intense method would make us excessively and violently ill. She expressed this to Dr. Bank's nurse. She explained everything very nicely. But all the nurse could manage to say was "I'm telling you right now, that's not gonna happen." Why, though? Seriously, why? Bank's god complex and cold approach are unacceptable, as is his nurse's attitude. She actually sounded annoyed with my mom. She did check with Bank, though, after my mom asked yet again if he might reconsider. She was slightly hopeful that maybe he'd be understanding. Nope! The rude nurse called back and gave a definitive no. So my mom just wound up canceling, which is a decision I fully agree with. I certainly wouldn't want my mother under the "care" of someone who refuses to listen to their patients' concerns. Empathy, understanding, and flexibility (within reason) are all qualities that a decent doctor must have. But Bank has none of them. We'll be looking for someone else, and I absolutely recommend you keep looking, too.

The best solution about and small issue (reschedule an appointmentt offered by the Staff) was to change doctor. That was the worst enemy for an excellent doctor. Criterious and communication is the very best friend for a team. Lack of administration and seriousness. I will wait for the doctor to change his Office Staff. Gonzalo Costa

Dr Bank is a wonderful Dr. He has a great bedside manner. He puts you at ease regarding any procedure.

Great doctor but wait time was unacceptable. It took 1 hour after my appointment for him to see me. And this happens very often with this office
