Dr. Albert Wu Coo, MD

Dr. Coo is an outstanding endocrinologist. I waited 6 mo to get a new patient appt with him — and he was definitely worth the wait. I searched specifically for an endo who was open to prescribing natural dessicated thyroid for hypothyroidism and because of positive reviews. For the first (new patient) visit, I brought a stack of paper with my complete medical history, a list of current symptoms big and small, and my list of drugs. Dr. Coo spent an HOUR with me, reviewing my history, asking questions and answering mine. He really listened, which was a relief after a number of doctors who didn’t. When answering my questions, he spent time providing well-thought out and detailed answers. Dr. Coo ran a wide array of lab tests as part of my first visit and the results came in 2 reports. For the first reports, he spent time on the phone providing detailed explanations of the individual results and his overall diagnosis. Then he outlined his recommended treatment, wanting to add a… drug to my mix. There were 3 possibilities and he explained each one, describing pros and cons, and then we made the decision together. Dr. Coo is extremely responsive when I’ve called or emailed him with questions and concerns. He responds the same day and often in less than 3 hours — and it’s ALWAYS him on the phone or email. I had an initial problem with the new drug described above and he responded in less than an hour. Subsequent appointments have been shorter — but that’s due to their follow-up nature. I’ve never felt rushed as I sometimes do with other docs. He also makes me feel like a partner in my own health, such as in discussions about treatment options, medicine dosages, etc. Dr. Coo’s office isn’t fancy by any means so don’t expect it to be bright and shiny. But he shines and is completely worth it.

From the time you enter the office, until the end of your visit, you are made to feel as if you are the only patient that they have for the day even though there may be two or three patients present. Dr Coo and his staff are very attentive, patients can feel comfortable asking questions and be asured that they get a professional response, in a timely manner, within a few minutes or few days if research is required, but you will get an answer. Dr Coo personally calls you with any lab results and discusses the next course of action. Stopped seeing him only because we moved out of the area

I have been a patient of Dr. Coo's for several years now and he is always responsive and caring . He takes his time with me, I never fill rushed. He alwasys calls me with test results good ir bad.. He is a very caring physician.

My diabetes is much better controlled since I;ve been seeing Dr Coo. I appreciate how well he takes care of my condition. He explains things clearly and answers all my questions. I never feel rushed when I'm at an appt with him. I would recommend him without reservation to any diabetic.

Dr. Coo himself is wonderful. His office receptionist, however, is extremely rude both on the phone as well as in person.

I have seen Dr. Coo for over 10 years. He has always been very caring, never makes me feel rushed, and always returns my phone calls himself in a timely manner. He does not talk down to me and never makes me feel as if my question is stupid. Dr. Coo's staff is nice and very efficient,too. Dr. Coo is an excellent physician. I highly recommend him.
