Dr. Amy Elizabeth Weber, MD

She knows her stuff, no doubt. But her desire to have the appointment over with as quickly as possible was palpable. While I received answers to what I came in for, ultimately I left feeling very upset with the overall experience. Impatient, curt, and generally condescending.

Thought she was good but prescribed high dosage of prednisone before testing me for what she thought was a blinding disease.she didn’t help me to get off prednisone. Told me to find other dr. She is arrogant,rude, nasty, and doesn’t care about people she’s doesn’t deserve to be a doctor. She’s the worse person in the medical field that I have ever met. Beware! If u need help, go to someone else. She is terrible.

I’ve been seeing Dr Weber for over 15 years for general eye care and most recently cataract surgeries (both eyes). I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Weber’s professionalism , communication and surgical excellence. Both cataracts were performed flawlessly and with no anxiety on my part , for the most part owing to Dr. Weber’s clear explanations , alternative treatments available and follow up communications from both her and her staff at both the office and out patient surgery center. Everyone I had the pleasure of dealing with was both kind ,professional and showed genuine interest in my treatment.

She is the doctor and you are the patient. Period. No human interaction. Doesn’t appear to like people.

Dr Weber is a wonderful doctor and extremely intelligent. Her practice seems to be a who’s who of local celebrities based on my visits. If you are interested she will speak to you intelligently and take the time to explain the medical issue and ensure you understand the anatomy, physiology or isssue. I can’t say enough positive things. PS she is also a voracious reader and is a great source for new books to read!

very poor bedside manners.

I found Dr. Amy Weber to be very thorough. I had a very complex eye issue related to an injury that required a surgeons expertise. There was no rush whatsoever. I thought she was incredibly knowledgeable about my situation, very thorough and also very warm and friendly. What I liked most was that her explanation of my situation was both highly technical but interpreted for me in terms that I could understand. I was referred to her by another Doctor as a second opinion from another surgery group and I found she provided a more detailed explanation of what was going on with my eye.

While the physician may have been good, the term to describe this practice at Plymouth Meeting as a "factory" may possibly have been an understatement. If you are a diabetic and want an eye exam, expect them to not use your vision insurance and not explain to you that they are not using vision insurance. What we expected was a courtesy check on vision plan and letting us know our expenses prior to the examination, like most vision practices. In addition, my dad was dilated and they did not offer him one of those disposal sunglasses to go outside, even though they claim that it's routine practice. He walked outside with blurry vision because he did not have eye protection, had to sit in the car for an hour before he could drive home. Had he wore the disposable sunglasses that were supposedly "offered" the situation might have not been as terrible. When I called to complain the manager did not accept responsibility and said the paperwork to explain all his dilation and copayment were… given and he signed. I suppose that takes away the courtesy of a verbal explanation when you have a busy day at the factory. When I relayed his message to her that it was unfair for people to not explain things to him because they perceived him as not being able to speak English well and therefore he could not understand them, she counteracted with the statement that it was unfair for us to not recommend them and give them bad reviews because I myself was not there to witness the situation. I am translating his experience and opinions verbatim. If the practice has cameras and she wanted to be objective, how about pulling from the camera and we can see exactly what happened? I am a healthcare professional myself and I find this unacceptable.

Unfortunately, the best words I can come up with to describe Dr. Weber's manner with patients are...arrogant and impatient. I have personally heard her mutter things under her breath which are highly judgmental and unprofessional. She doesn't actually seem to enjoy people very much and, indeed, does not listen.
