Dr. Andrew Joseph Racette

Was excellent several years ago when I had invasive melanoma. What a difference. Failed to meet a reasonable standard of skill and care. Exam for any problems was perfunctory, missed previous mole of concern and I had to point out everything I had seen. Missed several spots on face (site of previous invasive melanoma) and I pointed out the ones I had seen. I had to mark others including 2 he burned with a pen on second visit. Impatient with poor communication, insufficient information, curt and arrogant, especially on most recent visit because the medication guide said to see Dr. for several of the side effects I had. At least I found out how long it would probably take for the medication to take effect - 8-10 weeks, but no help for debilitating symptoms except to be patient. Wow! Extreme pain, worsening of symptoms, insomnia, tiredness, nausea,etc for another 6-8 weeks. He was angry that I had taken more than 15 minutes (must have been watching the clock) even though I asked for… 30 when scheduled. He had so many other patients waiting. 4 offices must generate a lot of overhead and income. Go see another dermatologist. This guy is a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen.

I went to Dr. Racette several years ago when I had invasive melanoma and was self paying and he was terrific. My recent experiences were terrible. It seems that patients are seen as $$ now. On all 3 recent visits, he could hardly wait to get out of the room. Last one was the worst. He seem irritated when he walked in and became even more impatient, short-tempered and condescending when I had taken up more than 15 min (Apparently he was watching the clock). Said he had a lot of other patients to take care of, even though I had asked in advance for 30 minutes because my pain level and symptoms were so debilitating and I had many questions. Heck, I wasn’t informed that my condition was chronic (and incurable) or how long medications would begin to be effective nor how to handle symptoms and side effects while waiting. I had done a great deal of research. Questions or explanations were nonexistent. Compassion, which he once had in abundance, was a thing of the past. I noticed most of… the reviews are several years old so may not be as relevant now. I recommended him to hundreds of people, including dozens of family members. First time and hopefully the last time, I will have ever left a Dr.’s office in tears. Go somewhere else if you want a physician who meets the requirements for a reasonable standard of skill and care

I have seen Dr Racette on 3-4 occassions. Two times with insurance and the other two without and the cost was inexpensive! I appreciate the services provided because it was not about my money or seeing me as a number. As some providers see you as. Two many patients, do not make the time to build rapport with their patients. This is not Dr Racette. Also, gave samples when was not able to make a purchase for medicine on one of my visit. Dr Racette is caring, knowledgeable, and very patient! I was comfortable because he listened to me, explained the diag, details and treatment for dermitatis I had in palm of hand. This was about 5 years ago since I have seen him. Now, I have another issue and thanks to Google I was able to locate him. Thank you again Dr Racette and staff for the services you provided!

This is the greatest dermatologist I have ever had in 36 years. This Physician did in one day what my last dermatologist could not accomplish in 23 years. He is all about his patients, compassionate, understanding, respectful, caring and will fight for every one of his patients to get the medication his patients rightfully need and deserve. I would never go anywhere else. Dr. Andrew Racette has literally changed my life!

At best he is just mediocre. He needs more experience and compassion when dealing with patients, especially the elderly. I felt he didn't really care about me or my skin problems and, as a matter of fact, he did not even look at the area of my body that I had the biggest skin problems with...I left flabbergasted!

Although seemingly professional at first encounter, under the surface, this doctor does not listen, does not address concerns. After confronting him with not answering direct questions, he gave me a pat medical speak and avoided addressing my concern. I would actually say he has an arrogance about him, without having the years of experience behind him. Find another dermatologist; there are a number of them out there.

I saw this doctor today and was not impressed at all! I will never return to his office. I had a skin tag to remove on my eyelid and he told me he could burn it off. I asked him if he numbs the area and he told me no most people can stand it and if I numb it you will most likely get a black eye. He started to burn it off and it hurt so bad, I made him stop and numb the area. He did not even wipe the area with a alcohol swap before injecting the numbing solution! I was appalled because that is very basic. I also did not like how his staff in the office treated me. If I need further dermatology treatment I will NOT be going back to this office! I do not recommend this office to anyone! They cannot even do the basics of using an alcohol swap!

I had the best experience I've ever had with any Dr. He was very Professional,thoughtful,and knowledgeable. I very highly Recommend Dr Racette.

I've seen 3 other dermatologists for foliculitis. He took care of it in one visit. Also froze off some age spots and provided a prescription that cured dandruff and itching on my scalp. All in 2 visits. Wish I had found him first.

Dr. Racette is an excellent Dermatologist. First off he takes the time with you to answer all your questions, gives you several options for treatments and is willing to spend the time you need to ensure you get all the information that's important. He works with you and is not preachy or arrogant. I also like the fact his office staff always acknowledges you even if they are very busy and does their best to ensure you get in when you need to.
