Dr. Andrew Stoekel on Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda, NY, refused repeatedly to prescribe antibiotics for my 91-year-old mother-in-law who had a deep wound in her leg after running into the corner of her bed. My wife, with advice from my sister, an emergency room RN, treated it for two weeks before calling Dr. Stoeckel again and sending photos of the wound when fresh and two weeks later when it was surrounded by a red rash. He continued to refuse to prescribe antibiotics, but did offer to send a wound care technician to our house in the middle of the pandemic. After 2 weeks we took her to Kenmore Mercy ER where they diagnosed a bacterial infection, injected an antibiotic, and prescribed both oral and topical antibiotics. If you want a doctor who puts doctrine over elderly patients' health and safety, then Stoekl is your man. If you want a doctor with an unmanageable ego, willing to let elderly patients die rather than admit error, then Stoekel is your doctor. He is no longer ours.

I had bilateral knee replacement in which Dr. Stoeckl had to remove a partial knee replacement first. He explained the process before hand and his follow up was great. I am no longer living in pain, can kneel, and would say have a normal life again. It's been over a year since my operation and if I ever had to go through it again, I would not give it a second through to have Dr. Stoeckl preform it.

Awesome doctor!

Dr Stoeckl gave me a new knee, and, at 82, I'm walking like a teenager; without pain and lots of range of motion. Now he is treating my torn rotator cuff and persistent left calf pain. Not only is he a great doctor, he's a wonderful, funny, caring human being. My friends are all coming to him.

Dr Stoeckl did carpal tunnel surgery for me and did an outstanding job. I had another visit and he gave me some outstanding advice

Dr. Stoeckl spends a lot of time with his patients, is very thorough before diagnosing, answers all questions, is very personable, friendly, cares about his patients, offers options to problems. I've never met an orthopedic doctor who treats you like you're his best friend/patient. I would recommend him highly for his work/treatment and bed side manner.

I would highly recommend Dr. Stoeckl -he did a wonderful job with surgery on my ankle.
