I require dialysis and unfortunately the access site for dialysis has a tendency to clot sometimes. When this first happened to me the place that my doctor called was Vascular Institute of Virginia. They promptly got me in and Dr. Shah declotted my graft. The center was nice and had comfortable surroundings. The office staff was polite and professional. It was abit complex but he worked very diligently and explained what happened with care and compassion. The graft was working again and I felt well taken care of. You could tell he knew what he was doing. It happened again recently and I had to be referred back for declotting. I was again well taken care of. I don't feel nervous about having this happen to me now as I know I will be well taken care of at Vascular Institue of Virginia and Dr. Shah. It's frustrating to be on dialysis, with all of its complications, so it is nice to have someone take good care of you like Dr. Shah does as well as my nephrologist. They gave me a ride too… which helped.
