Beware that after months of consultation, preparation, screening processes (including sleep study and psych eval, all passed without issue), that Dr. Arsalla Islam's office may decide to terminate you as a patient, without further explanation. Also beware that this could occur as few as two weeks prior to the scheduled procedure date, even if you've had it scheduled for 4 or 5 months in advance. Beware. This doctor engages in medical malpractice through mental trauma. Imagine after spending 18 months preparing yourself mentally and physically for surgery, finding a (seemingly) great doctor, scheduling the surgery, paying the money associated with all connected steps (hundreds of $$), that they may just send you a tersely written letter by certified mail. They won't even call you. Everything written here… is factual and first-hand.

Dr. Islam performed bariatric surgery on me a year and a half ago, she completely botched my surgery. I'm unable to lay flat anymore (not an issue prior to surgery) my acid reflux went from a 7 to a 10, she didn't repair my hernia, and many other issues too long to list. Bottom line my surgery cost around 40k, she butchered me, and now a year and a half later I'm having to find another surgeon to hopefully fix the damage she caused. Please be very careful if you are considering her as your surgeon.

Dr Islam has incredible bedside manner. She doesn't speak to you as if you are a vascular surgeon (expecting you to understand every medical term), but as a friend. I feel very blessed to have been referred to her by a friend. Best doctor EVER. Dr. Islam, you are one of a kind.
