Dr. Bart Paul Rask, MD

Dr. Rask has done nearly every needed orthopaedic surgery within my family. He is the only surgeon my mom would trust with any of her kids, so I went to see him recently for worsening knee pain. Apparently, it's a genetic issue, but a fixable one, so he did my lateral release surgery just a few days ago. The nurse at his office is really wonderful, and Dr. Rask was very straightforward but also very reassuring. He remembers my family and their visits, and his pictures from patients re-affirm how wonderful he really is. I knew he would do his best for me and I am glad to know that my knee has the best possible chance of excellent recovery, thanks to his good work!

Worst Dr ever! Do not go see him

I remember my first experience with this man and it was one of total lack of respect for his profession. Severe Knee pain was my complaint! I took in my previous ex-rays and MRI information from the hospital, he did not even look at them, he did not look at my knee, or move it in any way, just said I needed surgery. Needless to say I did not go back and I got a 2nd opinion. The new Dr. (great man) took new e-rays and moved my knee all around, he told me my knees were fine, no tears, but the problem I had was an inflamed bursa sack. Beware of Dr. Rask, always get a second opinion..

I broke my wrist on Dec 31, 2016 in Sunriver OR. I spent over 8 hours at St. Charles ER. The Doctor on call took xrays and had to reset/rebreak my wrist to align it. They instructed I get it casted in my hometown Hillsboro OR. I saw Dr. Rask on Jan 4, 2017. He did not even look at the xrays from St. Charles. Instead, the nurse took an xray. He then came back and said they needed to rebreak my wrist AGAIN since he said the Dr. at St Charles did not do it correctly. He gave me a shot and proceded to do it. I screamed so loud, my friend heard me in the waiting area. Every week for 5, I would go back and they would take an xray. At week 5, Dr. Rask took off my cast which was way to soon. Once he did, my ULNA bone will sticking out. He said it was normal. I went elsewhere for a second opinion. The Dr. told me after seeing my xrays from St. Charles that I did not need my wrist rebroke from Dr. Rask. I had to go through extensive therapy, a bone stimulator, etc.. Nothing… helped. I called Dr. Rask and demanded to get all my medical records from him. He wanted to see me. When I was in the ofc waiting, he was outside on the computer for 45 min. He TAMPERED with my xrays. The second opinion Dr's office told me that they requested all xrays from Dr. Rask. They received one. A picture of a HAND and not a WRIST. Needless to say, 2 years later, I am still in so much pain. I can no longer work as a hair stylist and had to retire. My wrist is now deformed. I can't write, wipe myself when going to the bathroom, on top of many other things normal people do on a daily basis. I have all the P ICTURES to prove it. He is the worst orthopedic surgeon, the most arrogant and full of himself. DO NOT go see him.

Dr. Rask fixed my shoulder after a serious car accident. My insurance company was a nightmare and regular doctors could not explain why I had so much pain and loss of function. Dr. Rask was the ONLY doctor that treated me with respect and kindness in this process and was the ONLY doctor that figured out what was wrong and how to fix it. I can function today because of his stellar care.

After years of enduring shoulder pain, Dr Rask removed a class 3 bone spur and tied up a small tear. After a year of healing, my shoulder strength is amazing with zero pain or inhibitions. I highly recommend Rask for any shoulder issues.

Dr Rask treated me on two separate occasions for different injuries. I could not have been more than impressed with his care through each step of the way. I highly recommend Dr Rask.

Thank you to fix my knee

I tore my ACL in my left knee for the 2nd time and went to Dr. Rask for a diagnosis and ultimately surgery. He fixed my acl but afterwards there was this popping that was preventing me from recovering. He recommended a 2nd surgery for a cartlidge transplant "OATS" procedure. I relented and had a 2nd surgery about 6 months after my ACL reconstruction. When I recovered from my 2nd procedure the Popping was still there and the surgery had done nothing to fix the problem. I went back to Dr. Rack and this time he recommended a 3rd surgery which was quite extreme. I ended up getting 2 other opinions and went with a different surgeon that was able to diagnose my problem as being built up scar tissue and was able to fix the problem orthoscopic. I can not in good faith recommend Dr. Rask for knee surgery. His diagnosis and troubleshooting skills did not impress me. Not to mention the recovery pain and time was terrible.

My shoulder has never been better! He always follows up and advises me my options for treatments if necessary.
