Dr. Bethany Alaine Cummings, DO

It is good to know we have doctors like her when we need them.

She is a great doctor and I am very happy to know she will be there when the next emergency comes up.

Seen in ER and of course had to wait for hours, but the doctor being under stress and pressure of being the only one on call, did try to take as much time as she could and explained the matter properly.

Dr. Cummings treated my mother who was experienceing cluster headaches and was suspect for stroke. She was in extreme pain and scared. She was treated with respect and was examined thoroughly to rule out the worst scenario first and then narrowed it down to the proper diagnosis. She followed up with her post visit which is not required of an ER Physician. Thank you Dr. Cummings.

My 80 year old father fell and hit is head on a curb. Univ of Pittsburgh Medical Center gave him 9 stitches over his eye and and a CT scan. The wound leaked for the next 8-9 hours when we took him to Winchester Medical's ER. Dr. Cummings took great care to listen and give him a total body check where my Dad's rt side was extremely sorel. She ordered x-rays - fractured rib + bruised lung. She also open up 3 stitches to find the cut hit a tiny artery so thus the reason for the wound leaking and a slight cut on my fathers inside eyelid. She also had a trauma surgeou look at him re all issues. Because of Dr. Cummings' top notch work and her understanding and willness to dig deeper on a busy Sat. night in the ER, my Dad got admitted and is on the bend much quicker.

My husband had a 105 fever, the staff wasted no time in evaluating his status. Dr. Cummings administered immediate medical action and helped us understand the search for the unknown origion of what was happening. Her caring bedside manner made us feel very comfortable. She even followed up with a phone call to ensure he was remaining stable after his release from the ER. It is refreshing to have a physician in a corporate environment present herself and care for you as if she was your family physician. While we waited for his fever to break we observed the large amount of accidents that arrived by ambulance or helicopter that evening and as the night progressed we watched her professional stature remain constant as each room filled. It was a very busy night, many thanks and cudos to Dr. Cummings.

Dr. Cummings is one of the emergency physicians at Winchester Medical Center. I had severe bruising on right flank (no falls). Dr. Cummings and staff quickly determined that my warfarren level was too high and quickly scheduled a series of tests to check for internal bleeding and xrays. Tests were negative, but the speed and ease of tests were excellent. Dr Cummings was very thorough and action was quick despite a heavy load that night.Kudos to her staff for quality, bedside manner and quickness - Angela (RN) and Samantha (RN).

Dr. Cummings is the best doctor ever. I went to the ER with GI problems. She has really good bedside manner. It was busy that night but she made me feel like I was the only patient at the hospital. She cared for me like I was her son. She told me where to go to get my medicine for the lowest price. A lot of times when I leave a doctor I am left with more questions and worries. Dr. Cummings addressed every possible concern without me even asking because she explained everything so well. If anyone has anything bad to say about her its because they are drug addicts that didn't get the pain med they wanted. I work at a pharmacy I know how drug addicts are when they don't get things their way. Bottom line Dr. Cummings is the best. I have seen specialist for 5 years for my problems and no one has been able to tell me whats wrong. Specialist keep telling me I have GERD. Dr. Cummings within 2 minutes of meeting me said you may have Chrone's disease. I got the test and she was right. … She is very smart and very nice.

I saw Dr. Cummings at the Emergency Room at Winchester Medical Center. I have never had such a rude person "taking care of me". She had no sympathy, and told my husband to stop talking and just listen when he was trying to ask her a question about her diagnosis. I told her a certain medicine made me feel worse a couple days before I had been in there, and she said "well it's that medicine or tylenol, so too bad". When I decided not to have a spinal tap done by her, but to wait till the next day she got very angry and just walked out of the room. Going to WMC that night and having her as the doctor was the worst medical experience I've ever had!
