Dr. William Page Barrett, MD

Dr. Barrett was simply wonderful! I was a new mom with a rare disease that caused my hip to break. With me being so young (31yo) they tried to salvage the hip but it was too late (due to negligence of my obgyn). Dr. Barrett came in and saved the day! Because of him, I was actually able to hold my newborn son and walk room to room instead of dragging him behind me in a laundry basket filled with blankets due to me using a walker. It is now 9 years later and I’m still feeling fantastic. The recovery time was swift and I wasn't in any pain anymore after he helped me. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Barrett and his wonderfully kind heart. Thank you so much, Dr. Barrett! You are simply amazing????

Dr. Barrett did a knee replacement on me. I wish I would have had another provider. Although I did all the icing and elevating and worked diligently on my physical therapy. I had a very limited range of motion. The worst part was how Dr. Barrett scolded me that it was my fault, because I must not be doing all my PT. Even though I was. He repeatedly said, "You are going to have to live with this the rest of your life". After a year and a half of constant pain, swelling and very little range of motion. I went to another provider for a 2nd opinion. That doctor said there is a definite problem, but will not do corrective surgery on another surgeon's patient. He wrote a letter to Dr. Barrett with suggestions. Dr. Barrett chewed me out for not trusting him and told me not to come back. I went to another orthopedic surgeon that also said it could be corrected and although he doesn't usually repair another surgeon's work, he would consider it after reviewing the operative notes… from doctor Barrett. I signed a release and that surgeon's office repeatedly called and faxed asking for the notes from Dr. Barrett. I also called. They never got them. In the meantime, I was paying out of my own pocket for acupuncture, massage therapy and cranial sacral physical therapy for pain relief. I started getting plantar fasciitis, Achilles pain and knot with bone spur and hip pain. My podiatrist told me they were all related to the BAD knee replacement. He told me that I would need Achilles surgery, but not until I get the knee fixed. He recommended an awesome doctor! The new surgeon was able to do a day surgery to do what should have been done at the time of the knee replacement. I needed to work hard some more with PT to keep the range of motion. I then had to wait a year to have the Achilles surgery and a long recovery from that. I'm back to hiking and biking and have done some running. Things I couldn't do for nearly 5 years because of the horrible knee replacement. Over the past few years I've talked to many people with a similar story to mine. When I ask who the surgeon was, they always say "Dr. Barrett". Dr. Barrett was very good to me until after surgery when I wasn't recovering and I asked questions. Then he was quite rude to me. I'm very thankful that I never gave up and found an awesome, respectful and compassionate surgeon to fix Dr. Barrett's surgery.

My surgery wasn't "typical". Dr. Barrett did a great job. No complications! His staff is amazing. I can't say enough good about the care I received. I traveled 3 hours to see him and it was worth it.
