Dr. Brian David Schwab, MD

I cannot, in good faith, recommend this physician. His treatment plan for my diagnosis was unnecessarily invasive. After seeking a second opinion, I was informed of additional, non-invasive treatments that Dr. Schwab failed to discuss with me. I think this is not only irresponsible, but potentially dangerous.

After weeks of having a completely blocked ear I made an appointment with Dr. Schwab. Everyone at his practice, from the front desk on, were friendly and professional. Dr Schwab has a good bedside manner and took immediate action to clear my ear issue. It was a great relief!! I would highly recommend Dr Schawab if you are having any ear, nose or throat issues.

I cannot recommend Dr. Brian Schwab. I went in for a septoplasty because of a deviated septum and a septal spur resulting in a narrow nasal valve (low airflow through one nostril). He pushed for turbinate reduction multiple times. I decided to trust him and didn't get a 2nd opinion (big mistake). After the septoplasty and both turbinate reductions, my nasal valve is still just as narrow and had no improvement in my breathing. He removed the spur but actually made my septum worse, so there was no net improvement, but my nose is more crooked. Also, the turbinate reduction in the "bad" nostril didnt do anything because I never needed the surgery. The turbinate reduction in the "good" nostril wasn't needed because there were no breathing issues. I learned all of this by seeing multiple ENTs after the surgery. Before going to a different ENT, I went in for a post-op to request a revision septoplasty. He said I need to wait 3-6 months for everything to heal. Really, he wants me to… wait longer than the 90 day "global period" (which would cover the revision at no charge) so he can charge my insurance again. Three other physicians said I don't need to wait at all! Also, on the post-op he suggested a non-invasive treatment that should have been introduced BEFORE surgeries. Don't make the same mistakes I made. There are several experienced ENTs in the Austin area, there's no need to take a risk on Dr. Schwab who just got out of residency in 2017 and likely trying to pay off loans by pushing unnecessary surgeries. By the way, once you start with a physician its a pain to switch, so do your research, get a 2nd or 3rd opinion and go with someone else even if its just for something small. Take care.

Dr. Brian Schwab deserves a 10 star rating here. He worked some magic and fixed my shattered nose. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Dr. Schwab and his nurse Kenneth. If you have any ears, nose, or throat issues I highly recommend this clinic! Also, there was less than a 5 minute wait every time I checked in and you have the opportunity to fill out all your paperwork online before you go in. Awesome!

I saw Dr. Schwab because I have been experiencing ringing my ear and hearing loss. The office staff was helpful and quick. The person that did the hearing test was explained the results very clearly. Dr. Schwab conducted a thorough exam. He was friendly and took the time to hear all my concerns and answer all of my questions. I left feeling fully informed. I have already recommended Dr. Schwab to a family member.

Came in with sinus congestion and ear pain. He was okay. Just not a doctor about whom I would tell friends. One suggestion: write down what you tell the patient to do when you give numerous directions and different time lines. You may repeat this many times a day but I hear one time one time. Us, I'm sick. My brains spark plugs might not all be firing.
